Post EQS 450 + second or tesla model y new?

:
Hello Everyone,
I'm currently evaluating two options for my next vehicle and would appreciate your expert advice. I'm considering either a used 2024 Mercedes EQS 450+ with less than 30,000 km or a new Tesla Model Y.
My preference leans towards the Mercedes due to its perceived higher material quality. Could you please advise on the key aspects I should meticulously inspect and be aware of when purchasing a used 2024 Mercedes EQS 450+ with low mileage? I'm particularly interested in understanding potential areas of concern or common issues for this specific model and year.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

Maybe I’m biased but I would never buy a Tesla.

Consider which is depreciating faster. MB is more luxurious.

Except for a couple trolls who are anti ev and are here for unclear reasons, most of us on this forum are enthusiastic fans of the EQS. Despite its lousy sales and steep depreciation (true of all luxury ev's), they are fantastic cars, and a used one is the biggest bargain in the business imho. There is no comparison between the rental car feel of a Tesla and the interior level of an EQS, despite people arguing the first world problem of if an S class has a nicer interior. In terms of what to buy or inspecting, I'd suggest going with a CPO model, but shoot higher and get a 450 4matic or 580. And you might as well get one with all the features, as the price difference is not that much between a low level and high level spec. I think it is fair to say most of us here have found the EQS to be very reliable except for some minor software infotainment issues, common to most cars these days. Be picky and find the right one...patience will net you one with 2000 miles at half off MSRP. You can do better than a 450+ with 30,000 km. After decades of switching cars every 18 months or so always wanting the next thing, that has stopped. There's nothing more that I want more, excepting maybe a Maybach ev, and I don't see a bump in range or hp making me want a new model.

How about maintenance? Service intervals? I was taking Tesla in considerations because I hate going and do maintenance regularly.

I recently went through this experience, and my purchase decisions focused on price, mileage (v. low), features/options (must-haves vs nice-to-haves), warranty length (3yr+), color combo (int/ext), and dealership (must-be-MB dealer). If you are looking into an EQS, then just make sure to obtain the car battery health report, Carfax report (any reported damage), MBUX software updates (v2.4 vs v2.6.1), check sticker for the list of installed options (factory or port) to see if any is missing on the used car (e.g., 2 keys, wheel locks, etc.). These vehicles are pretty solid, unless you are shopping at a shady dealership (BHPH-type), you should find these vehicles to be pretty top-notch/solid overall.

Good luck.

The service is next to nothing. MB has dreamed up some A and B services to extract extra cash, but it is nothing you can't do yourself--air filters, wiper blades, general check. They suggest brake fluid every two years for all their models, but that is overkill. The brakes hardly ever get used, and water % at three years old in my wife's EQS brake fluid is 0%, so I'd be replacing new fluid for slightly newer fluid. They eat through tires if you drive aggressively.
