Works for me, as long as there's plenty of parking.

I think it would be a good idea if some one scoped it out. Sounds like its valey parking like Gladstones. Thats gonna be so sexy to have all our cars valet parked, but also a ***** for the valets.

Addressing Diner:

OK, so the place I suggested has Valet Parking? Ok... how much is it?

This is alot harder than it has to be. Hasn't anyone ever heard of those unheard of shack restuarants that are good as , if not better, than most expensive restuarants, but are a whole lot cheaper? And has free parking? Why is this so difficult? Im thinking to cancel the dine part in Malibu, and booking it a Dennis Rodmans place. He owes me a favour or two...

Anyways, find out how much Valet parking is, and let us know. Thanks Fred! And make sure they have enough Valet for all 50+ of us.

Shouldn't dining be the easiest part of this? Also, who was the one they said they found us a place at Fashion Island? Somewhere on top of some building or something? Can you please tell us a little more about that. Whenever you get a chance. Thanks

Best Regards,
John

ok, here are the picks of the parking lot/ structure. it is hard to give directions because there are like 6 enterences to FI. but, ask someone where the parking structure it and they will tell you. it is by Barns and Noble so you will find it (its not hard)

when you enter the structure, you wanto to follow the signs that say Cinima and Island Dinning. it prity much takes you up to the 4th floor.

so when you get to the top there should be a lot of empty parking.

i took these picks at 11:30 am.

***the second pick is of the structure,so ignore the black-top lot****

its not a hard place to find

Malibu Lunch Spot

I still don't know if I can make this, but I was reading the thread and thought you might check out the Paradise Cove Beach Cafe, an "shack" place like you want. Its really casual, like peanuts on the floor, a great view (you're right on the beach) and free parking (3 hrs) validation if you eat in the restaurant. There is a valet on wknds, even for lunch, but its free and if you all come in at once, I dare any valet, or any two valets, to not let whoever wants to park their own car in their little lot right outside the restaurant.

Here is the Paradise Cove Beach Cafe website with menus and everything. Lunch is a bit pricey because its mostly seafood, but breakfast prices are moderate and served everyday until 2 pm.

http://paradisecovemalibu.com/beachcafe/index.htm

Its a cool little cove, and where they have filmed Gidget and Rockford files and a bunch of other stuff.

I don't care where we eat, lol, just as long as we EAT.

RedMongoosE, I saw the pictures you took of the parking structure.

Looks good, someone should get a hold of cones and block off 1 and half levels of parking. The visitors that aren't from the meet won't know whats going on. Have someone where to remove the cones when people tell them they are there for the cruise. We won't get in trouble.

Also considering that the meet is already at 50 something. I expect at least 100 when the time comes.

i live less than 2 min. away so i will be able to get there early, maby if 10 people or so show up at 10, we can act as rent-a-cops. i dont own cones and i think they are expensive. i might be able to contact FI and ask them if there security guards can block off a section for the meet. all of the stores open at about 11 and the only stores that you park on the roof for are the movie theater and RedRobbin. so i dont think it will be crowded.

True. Just steal cones. lol there should be some laying around here and there.

True, contant FI. I don't think they will mind, since you said the stores don't open up until 11. The meet starts at 10 I believe? I'm too lazy to check again but yeah.

Who goes to Red Robbin anyways, lol. No one is going to go the movies that early either.

I just set up a poll. I really like the place you suggested. Its very scenic and looks remote, and the parking lot looked huge.
