So-Cal Meet/PCH Cruise/ June 11th
There are a few issues to be addressed here, and I will address them accordingly:
1 MEET! Ok, this meet is constantly changing-- from the time we meet, to where we go, to where we are going to dine. So, heres what Im thinking:
The meet is now, in my opinion, REALLY big. Im not too sure Fashion Island can accomadate this many people, at one place anyways. So, with that in mind, I've decided to move our meet location. Not that I want to, mind you, its just getting too big, and still we have two months left for sign ups. So, after much self-deliberation, I have come to several different locations:
Golden West College
15744 Golden West Street
Huntington Beach California 92647-2748
714.892.7711 (HUGE parking lot)
Huntington Beach Bella Terra
7777 Edinger Avenue
Huntington Beach, California 92647
(714) 897-2533 fax (714) 894-7686
Corner of Edinger Ave. & Beach Blvd
Just South of the 405 Freewa
Westminster Mall
Located on the corner of Goldenwest Street and Bolsa Avenue
Westminster, California
714-898-255
Fashion Island
Newport Beach
Pacific Coast Highway & Newport Center Drive
(949) 721-2000
All of them have decent, if not better than, parking lots. Im looking towards Golden West College. Any thoughts, suggestiongs, etc, let them be known. Its quite difficult to say for every person, and I would appreciate everyones input-- you dont contribute, you don't get to complain. Simple as that.
2 As always, an update of the people whom commited their saturday for the meet, Fred: if anyone else has signed up for the meet at SRT forums, add them where they belong. Thanks!
BenzGal, nice to see you can make it.

And so dawns 40... Good, so far. Glad to see we are going to be pretty big. I never would have thought we would be past 20, much less 40.
3 Again, one more thing people arn't pitching in enough in: Where we are going to eat? As I have stated before, I'm perfectly fine with Macaroni Grill, but the list is getting enormous, if everyone is still ok with Macaroni Grill, we are going to have to reserve quite possibly the entire restuarant that saturday-- and Im not sure how much thats going to cost, but if it comes to it, we will see. So let me know where you guys want to eat, if this is ok for you, etc. Thanks!
Ok, so as all who have read this can see, its going to be pretty big, a reminder that safety is my top concern, please leave you're 2 Fast and Furious skills at home, along with any drugs you might have.
Best Regards,
John

If you want i can take pics of the lot.
What exaclty are you suggesting? That we meet in Malibu, Gladstones; or that we cruise there? Im a bit confused. Anyhow, if its travel there, it sounds like a plan. And as for exiting the PCH at City Walk, or wherever, if you can get us a nice detailed plan of where and when, that would make things alot of easier. And as for dining, if its not too much trouble, take some pics of their parking lot, and we will just eat there. Try to do so, when its empty, or near empty. Thanks
If you can, since you live closer to there, cruise around and look for resturants and parking lots that dont get too much attention-- big, but empty in other words. And see what other restuarants are in the area. Thanks again
Best Regards,
John

Here's some input/info....
Meet loccales:
Golden West has a swap meet on Sat and Sun so that doesn't look like a possible location.
Westminister mall is still a "dead" mall, so I think that would be the best place, plus it's right of the freeway.
Route:
I decided to take a practice cruise Sun., I went from HB to just pass Santa Monica, where you get on the 1. Anyway, traffic was pretty bad and didn't break up until I hit LB. traffic moved at a good pace through most of the South Bay, but came to a stand still North of Santa Monica, about 5 miles from Malibu. This little trip took me about an hour and 15 mins., keep in mind that's without stopping and waiting for everybody to catch up or take pics...Also, I thought this would be of interest, when passing through Torrance, I was passed by a caravan of about 200 Harleys (equal to about 50 cars) AND 30 streetrods and customs behind them....my point for bringing this up? Well with abot 50 cars already signed up and 2 months to go til the cruise...we may very well end up with about 75-80 cars...OR MORE (
LMK, what you think.
Tony.

First off, I would like to thank you for what you've done. I really appreciate all the help I can get. So thanks.
Now on to the topic at hand:
I know about Goldenwests Swapmeets ever Saturday and Sunday, so thats why I thought we--I-- could call up Goldenwest and let them know whats happening, and ask them if they could not have a swapmeet that day. At Goldenwest College, we avoid the hassle we would have if we were meeting at Westminster Mall, such as, what section? Where are you guys? Endless circling of the mall etc. If we could get them to hold the swapmeet for Saturday, I think it could work out nicely. Just my opinion on it.
Also, an hour and 15 minutes is not bad, in my opinion. I think that sounds good. Add in the stops and all-- we should make a 3 1/2 to 4 hour trip, which sounds about right. Plus the dine, which Im going to address in the next post, the evening should go along smoothly.
Now for the "cops". Although the idea sounds tempting, I must say, with the cops there, we might as well be driving Hondas. No speeding, no nothing. Im not saying Im going to be speeding ( :v ), but what I am saying is, that whith "cops" there, we wont be seeing any action.
Is, everyone ok with that...? Thanks again for taking you're time to do this for us, I greatly appreciate it.
Best Regards,
John
I also would like to thank you, for you're input and for spreading word about this meet. I really appreciate it. Now, I must ask for one more favour-- IF you can, I would like to give you the responsibility of finding us a place to dine in Malibu. Or near Malibu. Im going to wait until you respond to this before relieving myself of this responsibility, but I just figured it would be easier for you, since you're closer. If you cannot, no hard feelings, I will just take it upon myself. If you are, make sure its not too crowded and has lots of parking. Again, thanks for all you're help thus far, I really appreciate it.
Best Regards,
"Torque Monster" John
