I was there last wknd! I didn't see you or Orlando - yes, it was the busiest! Great cars!!

As for MBs, my car has been there the last two wknds, but I got there too late last week to be next to the usual MBs, a slew (okay only 3-4) of old (70s) SLs and an old roundtop.

If it is busy, for those that haven't been, know that you must be there by 7 am precisely, if not before. They open the coned off area no earlier than 6:50 am and there can already be people parked with their coffee, in a side lot, waiting to get in. Also, know that if your car isn't classic & perfectly restored, new & exotic or unique, you may want to park in an overflow lot anyway.

It may just be looked at as taking the spot of a car that would be getting much more interest. As an example, in Newport, SL 500s and even 55s are a dime a dzn and I have yet to see one in the coned off lots (of course, I've only been 3x). Nonetheless, its not that it isn't an incredible car, it just that anyone can go to any upscale p. lot in Newport and see one or more, or even just drive down PCH and see more than a few up close anytime they want - why get up at 6 am on a Sat?

I'll be there, standing next to the old SL MB guys. If its busy, maybe we could all meet in their area. They park in the back lot (closest the ocean, farthest away from Starbucks) at the northern most end (toward LA, opposite Mexico), on the inside row (away from the ocean, closest to Starbucks). Got it Okay, there is one of the MB SL guys that is always there and is one of the first parked. Just look for his beautiful 70s something O condition Gold SL.

Can't wait to see y'all there. Breakfast sounds good. There is Pacifc Whey right there or we could go to Laguna for breakfast, but parking sucks, except for that Mexican place in South Laguna on the beach side of PCH. Don't they have their own little p. lot? Or, we could go up to Huntington and IHOP or Sugar Shack or something and watch cars cruise up and down Main St. Any other ideas?

 

what car were you in, im usualy the 4th or 5th person there. i braugth the red Sl (look in the avatarthing) i parked nexto the old SLs. for breakfast. we could go to Rubys up the coast it is by Golden spoon. its a bout 5 min. away straight up PCH and there is a lot of parking there if we get there by 8:20 or so.

so are we going to meet by the old SLs? that sounds good to me!! ill be there at 6:30ish.

I don't remember your car but I was there late and had the SLK, parked in the front lot, across from Starbucks and Pacifc Whey, where you're not supposed to park for longer than 20 minutes, but everyone does. In fact, did you notice that the super exotics are starting to park there instead of inside the cones?

I was the chubby older gal hanging out with those SL guys for the longest time. I had a giant Venti from Starbucks in my hand? Anything? So, this wknd I'll try and be on time so I can PARK and STAND next to those guys and I will be able to finally meet you and with the others

It IS a great car show and, in it's own way, better than the Hot Rod show in Huntington Beach at the donut shop. They are ALL fun. Enjoy. I may stop by and say "Hiya" to all the MBZ folks, but can't guarantee it.

 

Admittedly, it was super crowded last week but I can't believe I didn't see you!

How's this for a schedule so we can just know what is going on -

6:30 am
Meet at a table in front of Starbucks & Pacific Whey Cafe, Crystal Cove - btwn CDM and Lag Bch on PCH - look for a tall guy with pierced ears, I guess, or a 17-year-old male model . Park, not directly in front of Starbucks, but in the side lot just on the north side, like toward LA, of the coned off lots which are in front of Starbucks.

9:00 am
Cruise south, toward Mexico, down to Ruby's on PCH in Laguna Beach. Lots of in front easy view parking from both the restaurant and PCH.

 

ummm.. why dont we line up?? and wele park inside where the old SLs are usualy.. then all of that other stuff sounds good but shoud we go to the south rubys or the northern rubys 6 min, away.
