^Lets just have it in Providence at a park. We can have a BBQ/Party. Lets try to see if we can get around 100+ people to come.

2004 Civic Si. FWD for the Win!
One thing you could consider for the 9th is that PDA is having an event on that weekend at Watkins Glen, NY. $275 for the day for nonmembers. I did one of their events earlier this past year at Pocono, and their shop (IMP in Clifton, NJ) has been handling my CRX for years. Their events run very smoothly.

Unfortunately, it's a 4 1/2 hour drive (by Mapquest, so really, prob 3 1/2 hours), so I don't know what the logistics would work out to be - maybe book rooms somewhere in the middle, or even near WG, so that you do the bulk of the driving on Sat, then drinkn heavily that night, get up, and go to the track on Sunday.

But it's an idea. Here are some links:

Watkins Glen

PDA

Etown's obviously not going to work out, so your options are going to be pretty limited.

PDA may be able to work with you about group pricing and such, I don't know. The owner's Joe, a really cool guy. If you want me to talk to him to feel him out (so to speak), let me know.

I've been to Watkins Glenn many times. I love the backroads overthere. There are also a bunch of nature attractions and many small town girls. It's a big race town I always see porsche's. There is also an endless amount of vineyards. I would be in for Watkins Glenn.

Also everything there is sooo cheap. and it does take about 3-31/2 hours to get there. I put it in cruise at 95mph. The ride is nice great views.

BTW, So where's that separate post with the official announcement and fliers? Will plan on attending, but quite honestly, I'm still not sure this is happening.

Like someone already said, thats a negative!!! If your interested there are quite a few meets and get togethers in the MA area and we have had a couple Rhode Islanders come up for them. Keep your eye out

As for everyone else, I apologize I am working as a mechanic for the summer and dont quite have the access to a computer that I did when I was working for the patriots.

There will be a thread shortly... Rbrenton say we did not do a track event(this is still a what if) do you know of any descent driving routes and parks maybe we could pull something off and maybe even have dinner and a photoshoot on sunday?

I just need to know when!

I'll probably just stay in NYC for the weekend with my friend and bring my car there. That way I can get it nice and clean for the Sunday!

If we do have a track event, I'd love to take the 944 out! I think I would need a Driver's Ed. course first tho!

Yeah, it seemed like a great idea to me, and a very good fit. Guess we're in the minority on that.

no it is a good idea, but I dont think some 30+ members are gonna travel 3+hours when some of them will have traveled from 5+ hours the day before

Maybe if we have a Northeast AMG meet in 06

Oh well tommy. I do love those back roads. There're the kind you read about in car and driver. I hit 143mph on one, and then they have the nice twisties too. No cops and no other vehicles, ever. They have a big car festival every Sept. also Wine festival I'll prob. go to check it out.
