San Diego (Encinitas) MB / AMG Meet - 9th JULY - 2PM
but first of all.....
THANKS !!
in no particular order, but to the following people who made this event a COMPLETE success !!! if you missed out, I am truly really sorry ! At our peek, the meet counted on 85 Mercedes-Benz models. Maybe a little more..... Everything from the 1950's to 2006. Just awesome ! What other meet that you have been to has had so much MB variety ???
- EVOSPORT ( Brad & Simon) thanks for the great opportunity MBWorld provides to bring enthusiasts together and share our common passion ! Thank you for providing the raffle items.
Mr. Wolf won a pulley kit, and PerzBenz a 1/18 scale CLK-GTR
- Kai Serrano, Dan and the UNIMOG crews !
Thanks a million Kai, for bringing out the MOG's. They were a complete hit !
For all you guys who think this was a regular MB/AMG meet, where else could you see 5 or 6 different UNIMOG models in full splendor ? Awesome !
Let's do it again sometime !
- CEC: Thank you for the beautiful LORINSER CLS500.
The car is awesome. The kit looks great ! Thanks Ken !

- Mercedes-Benz Club of America: Thank you for bringing out the classic & vintage MB's. This is what inspires us all ! Love to see the marque and original styling & class that MB put into its past models. What a show ! Beautiful detailing, spectacular colors, great restoration / maintenance ! 1952 170 / 1963 190 / and many many more....
- HPS Thank you Adam & Bill for bringing your supercharged CLK500. Great to see innovation and engineering at our meets. I was very impressed by the workmanship and attention to detail. We definitely need to do this again ! Thanks for driving all the way down. www.myhps.com
- Mr. Howard Singer Thanks for bringing the 1960's MB Camper. Great upkeep on a rarity, most will never see. Thanks for the tours of the camper. Makes me want to move in !!
- Dan **** your SMART was a great HIT ! How could you NOT love this car ??? Dan & Mark, thanks for sharing all the info, and answering all the questions. My wife in particular is now hooked, and the SMART is on her "to-do" list !!
- to the guys from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and ESSA from Arizona. Thanks for driving out all the way for the meet ! Simply amazing. You guys should of gotten a prize ! I owe you drinks !!
- Rammbs: thank you so much for the support and help. Thanks for the print-outs with everyone's name on it. It really helped out, so we could break the ice, and people could associate names & cars. Appreciate the help in setting up the raffle too ! A huge success ! Let's do this again !
- Michael, the DAS guy. Thanks for helping us out with the programming/coding. Really appreciate you taking the time out to come on down and setting us up. Hope to meet you again, cause I owe you a few drinks. I was running all over the place, but I wanted to formally express my gratitude: THANK YOU !!!
- lisamcgu thanks for the Restaurant protocol advice. Oggi's turned out to be a good time, even if our waitress was a little nerve-wrecked with the splitting up of checks and stuff.... typical !! We need an after-meet Restaurant committee for our next meet, so you might be the ideal candidate !
- The Caravan Crew: Thanks to BenzoBoi (Sun), FrankW (Frank), and Dan_Wang (Dan) for setting up and leading the caravans from their respective meeting places. I heard traffic was a little heavy, but you guys managed to get everyone down here just in time. The way-point at one of the rest stops was a great idea, to allow everyone to catch up and regroup. Thanks for a job well done !
- I don't mean to leave anyone out... but thanks again to all the Orange County, Riverside, and Los Angeles, and even Ventura County folks who drove all the way down, battling traffic on the 5, and putting up with sunny San Diego. (Hope you all got some bottled water ! )
I really really appreciate it, and I hope the meet was well worth the time & energy. To the San Diego folks who showed up, thank you as well for representing. I really wish however, that all of the San Diego people who signed up, would have shown up. That is kinda embarrasing when we had people driving down from so far away. We can do much better than that !
C'mon S.D. !!!
- I know there are some of you I didn't get to meet personally. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off for most of the time, so I apologize if we didn't get to meet. Please hunt me down next time, so your name / face / screen-name / vehicle all sink in.
- finally, to all the bubbas & bubbettes who stuck around for the after-meet snacks at OGGI's, thanks for the good time, laughs, and friendships sparked ! This is sometimes the best part of every meet, where we all get to know each other a little better, share some funny stories, and enjoy some good eatin'. As always, we need to do this again !
so once again,
THANK YOU to all for making this a total success !!!
next up: IRVINE MB/AMG meet in late Sept/early Oct.... stay tuned !
