NJ BBQ - Edison, July 17th

Thinking about organizing another one of these this year in Roosevelt Park, behind the Menlo Park Mall.

Would anyone be interested? Last year's AMAZING attendance wasn't the most inspiring.

So, anyone interested, and any thoughts on that date?

The 10th is fine with me, as long as everyone's ego can take a 5 MB/500 BMW ratio.

actually i would prefer driving the 944 turbo but this is supposed to be an MB meet! Oh well, it would offset the 1000 bmw's that are probably gonna be there

Guys, in the week I have been away in the jungles of asia, this meet has been faltering (Tommy, I give you credit for trying). There is still another thread about another meet for bmw/mb. What is the deal, and when is the deal? I need to firm up plans.

Lets get everyone on the same page, shall we? And spread the word. There are 40 million drivers in this area...least we can do is show some sort of turnout.

OK, since the meet's set, is there any interest in a bbq there, or will everyone just get food on their own? Thought it would be nice to do a MB bbq, for old time's sake...

Vik, is there anything going on at the meet other than the normal meet and greet stuff?

Tom, it's just a meet and greet, no cruise planned, people asked about lunch, I had no response because I figured you were going to do a BBQ with a few of the benz guys, are there areas in the park where we can do this, if how many people can we fit (50+ guys) and if you want everyone involved, what will you bring, and what you will need.

There are numerous public grills in the park, and enough space for 500 people.

I would really prefer a MB-only meet though.

Rick's a little shy.

Judging by the usual lack of response here, I'm thinking of just not doing any kind of food BS this year, unless enough people say that they want something. Rick, to make you happy, I'll bring you a raw burger to nibble on during the meet. :p

Well if you are welching on the food, I'm not splurging on johnnie walker.

We'd get more responses if anyone ACTUALLY READ THESE THREADS. which most people do not and therefore never know about these events. We are not allowed to crosspost because that might threaten the integrity and quality of the Off Topic area.

I wonder if we can convince that tool SLK 55 AMG to drop by and sit in my trunk for a bit.

Hey guys, thanks for showing up!

Another great one goes by the wayside...
Alewifebp, good seeing you again. Everyone else, shame on you. O the humanity!

Vik, thanks for organizing!

Are you retarded? The title of the thread is JULY 17TH. What the f is the story?

Really, I'm no longer amazed at the ineptitude of the Northeast contingent. We can't even figure out a date, let alone show up at the same place.

It is not my fault that your parents were related before they got married.

I thought that it was clear that everything had been consolidated to Vik's meet.

Anyway, to make it up to you, show up at the park at noon on Sunday; I'll be there five minutes after you, so keep waiting, ok?

Good seeing you too. I guess the turnout wasn't that bad, but we do look bad in the face of the BMW people.

And they still were after the wedding.

I'm in Greece anyway. I guess if I don't run things, they don't get done properly. I'll deal with you when I get home (p.s. I have loads of fireworks left, y'all should come over)
