Mercedes-Benz SLK & SLR enthusiasts meet 10:30, Sat, Aug 20, in Pleasant Hill for camaraderie and to discuss their cars. For those with time there is a scenic back roads drive at 11:30 to Berkeley. There is no cost. Then an optional lunch. This is the 21st SLK meet and is for all SLK & SLR drivers in Northern California. Join us for an enjoyable day.

Mercedes-Benz SLK enthusiasts meet 10:30, Sat, Aug 20, in Pleasant Hill, in the parking lot behind Peet's , 65 Cresent Drive. From the south take the Contra Costa Blvd exit off the 680, left at Cresent Plaza, right at Cresent Drive. Peet's is at the corner of Cresent Plaza and Cresent Drive. From the north, take the Monument Blvd exit off the 680 head west, right onto Contra Costa Blvd, left on Cresent Plaza, then right on Cresent Drive. There is a Century Theater across the street and a n Albertson's on the other side of the parking

This is the 21st SLK & SLR meet and is for all SLK & SLR drivers in Northern California. There is no cost. Join us for an enjoyable day. For those with time there is a scenic back roads drive at 11:30 to Berkeley. There is an optional lunch at Spenger's. Our thanks go to Owen Tan for planning the event(s) below.

SUMMARY

MEET DETAILS AND DIRECTIONS

Mercedes-Benz SLK enthusiasts meet 10:30, Sat, Aug 20, in Pleasant Hill, in the parking lot behind Peet's , 65 Crescent Drive. From the south take the Contra Costa Blvd exit off the 680, left at Crescent Plaza, right at Crescent Drive. Peet's is at the corner of Crescent Plaza and Crescent Drive. From the north, take the Monument Blvd exit off the 680 head west, right onto Contra Costa Blvd, left on Crescent Plaza, then right on Crescent Drive. DRIVE ITINERARY:

Meet in the parking lot behind the Peet's at 65 Crescent Drive (cross street Crescent Plaza), Pleasant Hill at 10:30.
Depart Peet's parking lot, turn right (west) onto Crescent Plaza, turn right (north) onto Cleveland Road.
Turn left (west) onto Gregory Lane, continue straight ahead even after the road name changes to Grayson Road.
At the end of the road turn right (north) onto Reliez Valley Road. This road will go through a rural residential area, follow it in the direction of Orinda.
Turn left onto Bear Valley Road. Pause to regroup. This is a nice two lane road with a wide shoulder for bicyclists, which passes by the Briones Reservoir and the San Pablo Reservoir. We will stop to admire the view.
Where Bear creek Road meets San Pablo Dam Road the name changes to Wildcat Canyon Road. We will continue on Wildcat Canyon Road towards Tilden Park. This is a winding country road with occasional bicyclists. We will stop to regroup at Inspiration Point.
Continue on Wildcat Canyon Road through Tilden Park.
Turn left (west) at Sunset Lane to exit park.
Turn left (south) onto Grizzly Peak Blvd.
Turn right (west) onto Marin Avenue. This is a steep downhill.
At the traffic circle with the Bear fountain, go halfway around and exit on the opposite side from where you entered, continue down Marin Avenue.
Turn left (south) onto Santa Fe Avenue.
Turn right (west) onto Gilman Street.
Turn left (south) onto 4th Street. Pause to regroup.
We will be driving through the 4th Street shopping district (Crate & Barrel Outlet, Restoration Hardware, Dansk Outlet, Design Within Reach, Builder's Booksource, Cody's Books, SurLa Table, Anthropology, Discovery Store, etc.).
At the corner of Hearst Avenue and 4th Street you will see a parking lot on the right, park there. Spenger's is across the street.

OPTIONAL LUNCH/RESTAURANT INFORMATION

For those that want to join us at the restaurant, we will be there somewhere around 12:45 to 1 PM. Spenger's is at 1919 Fourth Street, Berkeley, CA 94588 Tel 510-845-7771.

The Northern California SLK Enthusiasts had a great event again 8/20/05. We had 14 SLK's, including 4 R171's, one of which was our first SLK55 AMG attending.
