I was at Walmart. I didn't know which set I should buy. Are they all inter-communitble between brands?
If not, what's the point?

Most walkies have the regular channels then sub-channels so you can choose from a range of sub-channels to talk with individuals. So say you choose channel 9 then sub-channel 25. There are a lot of combination of channels and sub-channels that you won't get unwanted parties in your line. Most of them sold today have this capability so they're pretty much all compatible.
I am trying to get out of it, but it doesn't look promising.
