So-Cal-Vegas Rally??
i also have a house in vegas we could crash out at for anyone who isnt willing to put down the cash for a room at a casino..and we could meet up with the vegas group as well! so what do you think?
id probably stay in a casino, but ill to see if the furniture is still at the house..since we were renting furniture for the house in vegas. but even then..who cares. nice place..4k sq ft. 3 car garage, rvspots to fit 2..and a big driveway.. just throwing it out for you guys to mull it over in your heads.
Let's rally up once a week/month at first locally and then do some organized decision making. Back in the 80's & 90's I use to run a truck club and we did have meetings to organize together, BBQ's, Car Show's, and even Rally's. There are regulations by CHP(CA. Vehicle Code) on large caravan's
I only met like a fraction of the people from Carlo's RSVP. There was a guys who live in the Rosebowl canyon, he was outside washing his 911 and decided to follow one of the caravan's thinking there was a car show... oh well, he was embarrased to see a bunch of his cousins(you know the whole Mecerdes, VW, and Audi's family) only wearing the Star's Emblem. He went home and switched cars with his E320 Wagon and came back.
That was cool. He hung out and talked for a little bit. We then were talking about BBQ's and other types of events. Let me know what happens.
There's already a planning thread for that, and this SoCal-Vegas rally can coincide nicely. Just an idea for the event organizer/coordinator, to maximize participation.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
there's already an event planned for JULY in San Diego.
That's where the Nov '07 SEMA planning thread resides.
MBWorld is not the monopoly on Mercedes-Benz meets...
I post on 20 online MB forums, to get maximum participation.
5 or more vehicles needs to be on the slow lane, no more than 1/2 a cars length in distance from each other and under 10 mph of the speed limit.
No Snake Maneuver's(aka, a chain movement from the last car to let the other cars in front in. Sometime a car in the front cut's off a lane and let's everyone in and then that car returns back to the front.)
All headlights must be on in a caravan.
Caravans require escorts(motorcyle rent-a-cops)
There a whole list of
and bylaws about this when mini-truckin was big.Every 1st Sunday of the month the So Cal Mini Truck Council would meet at a park off the 605 and the 60 and discuss issues like this and how CHP would give everyone a hard time. Beside being in a lowered truck and flashing a painted club logo on your rear window, they were out to ticket like a frenzy.
It would interesting to find out what's changed and this would also help us, in the event anyone does get pulled over. Like the desk office you called, some of these guys including traffic officer, don't know all the laws, just pull people over because "they think" it's wrong or it "looks" wrong, so they carry a California Vehicle Code book handy to look into while they pull you over. I use to have one that's pretty outdate(1993), somewhere in a box.
Anyways, let me know what he say, like I said, it would be interesting. Then again, also give them a fake date. We don't need them expecting us on a certain day out there, just in case, "SOMEONE" decides to pound their pedal to the metal.
LMAO VASIR!
I found that very interesting jgajito, I never even knew they had codes n regulations on just "Caravaning" and how in the world do you rent-a-cop?

what date should we target guys?
I still believe you can RENT-a-COP regardless. Just ask your local PD.
BTW, I think even the military follow's those regulations.

So forget the headlight thing, let's try to be as low-key as possible.
Found a free download for the CA. 2007 Vehicle Code book.
Very handy when getting ticketed.http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/vcpdf/vehcode.pdf
