**2nd Annual MBW East Coast Fishing Charter May 16 ***

Feeler starts now.

Same deal as last year. Dates to be determined, but estimated at an April Saturday or Sunday when it is warm enough.

Private Charter departs from the Atlantic Highlands Marina (NJ) and runs wherever we want to go for 5 hours. Rods, tackle, and bait included.

All guests welcome.

Per person rate is yet unknown. Depends on the total number of people committed and the rate schedule of the charter captain, but figure ~$75 pp, including tips for the mates.

(by committed, I mean those that don't stick RB and MG with the no-show funds (Bruce and Jack!))

BYOB/food.

Dude, don't get chinsy on the price. If we both go, I'll cover what you can't. RB goes through a lot of hassle to put this together, no chance it's not worth the 75 bucks.

WTF is wrong with you? Haggle? I don't own the damn boat. Did I post this on the Kia forum by mistake?

Ok, I'll stop hassling you Sid.

I have yet to get the price from the captain, but basically he charges a flat $800 for the first 15 heads, then $25 per head thereafter. (or along those lines). So the more people that commit, the lower average price becomes.
Plus we know this time to insist on one mate, so as not to have to shell out another Benjamin unexpectedly.

We could do a public party boat for less per head, if you don't mind rubbing elbows with 30 drunken douchebags from Staten Island.

Rick, I'd be interested again. I'd even pay full price!

Oh, how'd C43's car get keyed so much?

That guy will be doing some gauges for me towards the end of the month and get my car dynoed to see if it's even worth it to re-chip my car. Too bad I missed you guys; if I were on time, I would have been there same time as you.

Here's a note from the captain:

Morning Rick ! May 9th is the full moon I suggest May 16. Price will be $800.00 for first 15 guest and $25.00 each over 15. If you want stripers and blues keep the guest to around 15 for max comfort and fishabilty. Last summer one of my mates left and I put an ad in the paper for a deckhand. In the past maybe 6 to 8 people would respond. This year over a 150 people responded, I shut the phone off for 2 days. The person who got the job holds a doctorate degree and is a professor at Princeton. I'll have to up my qualifications for bait cutting.

Booze is usually plentiful. Strippers, well, I can take my shirt off.

Well, as others said, a definite maybe. If it's in April, more than likely not, I usually go up to North Central PA for trout season. Can we bring our own poles if so desired? Will this be a day-time or night-time trip?

It is may 16th (see title)

I'm going to need a list of "Yes, I will go for sure, unless my mother dies" votes soon to book the boat. This is not something that can wait until 2 weeks prior, as deposits must change hands. That's real money folks. My money.

And yes, you can bring your own equipment.

Edit: Sail time is around 4pm.

Rick, would pre-payment on this make sense? I wouldn't want you to have to dip into the kids' community college funds to make up for no-shows.

It's sort of the cart before the horse. We know that 15 heads will split $800 + mate tip, but I don't have a sense of how many will sign on.

I knew I was gonna catch $h!t for saying "pole", I figured it would be safer to say that though rather than "rod".

Okay, your first post mentioned April, so I was confused (not hard to do). Okay, thanks for the additional info, when do you need the definitive "Yes or No" by?
