UConn Car Club Show April 19th

The UConn Car Club invites you to come and be a part of our 5th Annual Spring Car Show on Saturday, April 19, 2008! The show is Saturday. It will NOT be postponed. Disregard any conflicting information you may hear. In accordance with university regulations, there is to be NO ALCOHOL at the car show. The police will enforce the open container law. We like to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for people of all ages. There is to be NO SHOWBOATING at the car show. This means NO BURNOUTS and NO SPEEDING both in the lot and around campus. The police will be at the show to enforce this. Drive slowly when arriving at and leaving the show. For those of you who have yet to experience a UConn Car Club show, we tend to draw a very large and diverse crowd. Anyone who has been to one of our previous events can attest that there is something for everyone. Whether its Classics, Domestics, Imports, Euros, Trucks, or even supercars that you are into, we promise that you won't leave disappointed. (Rt. 195) UConn Storrs Campus Storrs, CT 06269 Maps Close-up map of W-Lot entrance from Rt. 195 Map of surrounding area with parking lots to meet up at prior to arriving Times Gates open at 10:00am for vendors Gates open at 11:00am for general public Gate closes to participants when the lot capacity has been reached (~600 cars) Registration closes promptly at 1:00pm or when the lot has reached its capacity Various events occuring between 1:00pm and 4:00pm Voting ballots due in by 3:00pm Awards around 4:30pm Price FREE to spectate $10 per car entered Awards 1st Place & Runner-Up awards in all classes except specialty awards Your class will be chosen for you * 1980-Up o Import + FWD + RWD + AWD o Euro + Compact + Midsize + Luxury o Domestic + Ford + GM + Mopar o Truck/SUV + Street + Offroad o Performance (~$50k+) o Supercar & Exotic o 2/3 Wheel * Pre-1980 o Stock o Resto-Mod o Hot Rod * Specialty Awards o Sleeper o Best Club (Quality) o Club Participation (Attendance) o UC3 Choice Judging The majority of the judging process will be in the hands of the participants this year, allowing those entered to get the most out of the show by directly voting on their favorite cars. Voting will be done using a ballot system and will begin at 1:00pm. Those arriving even one minute past 1:00pm will not be allowed to register or vote. Parking There is space for approximately 600 cars in the lot. Arrive early (but not earlier than 11:00am) to ensure yourself a spot. If you want to park with your friends, arrive early and as a group. Note that there will be areas for each major group of classes, so don't plan to park with your minitruck buddy if you drive an import. Events Highest - 1:00pm - (Rules pending) Lowest - 2:00pm - (Rules pending) Loudest - 3:00pm - Entrants will rev their engine 3 times. Highest dB reading at 50ft wins. Food This year we are providing everyone with a nice variety of food. Lizzie's Cuisine (the cart by Arjona) will be there as always, as will Dominos Pizza and Wings Over Storrs. Enjoy!
