I'll be there, of course. Gotta check out that Z convertible. I'd like to see the Mitsu Evo. Wonder if they'll show the US-spec Elise there, if it's ready?

Young, if you go on the autoshow's website, there's a pic under the "how to get there" section; you can see the main entrance on 11th Ave. I don't know what the cross street is, but I'd say that we should meet just off to the side of that main entrance.

It also says no backpacks, and I don't think that they'll make an exception, so pack wisely.

Well, here are the options...

Cruise in early, take up a few long blocks between 32nd and 39th on either 9th, 10th, or 11th Ave. On a sunday they should be relatively empty if we got there early enough.

Or cruise to the city and park ah'la every man (or women) with a 20 or two for themselves. Racing down West side hwy would be fun as hell though. It would look sick to get a couple blocks lined with Mercs too.

Meet up in Hoboken (parking would be much worse then in the city) take the PATH in.

If you're going to submit yourself to the PATH treatment, you can park cheaper at Journal Square in Jersey City. It's a few more stops but Hoboken lots are priced at Manhattan levels or near there. Newport Centre Mall is not too bad, either; it's on Marin Boulevard - last right turn before the Holland Tunnel tolls, then first left.

hey guys,

i didn't see anyone there (columbus and tommy) although i kept an eye out for you guys. we waited but i figured that maybe you guys were a little late or early. (tommy, i forgot to take your cellphone number so we couldn't call you).

it was really packed! tons of people. including people who took too long behind the wheels... and little kids who wanted to sit on the bmw motorcycle.

the amgs were very nice. also looked at the m3 cabrio, a4 cabrio, clk cabrio, z cabrio. do you sense a theme?

astons (but i didn't see the new db8), maybach, honda element which i think is a cute little suv (as long as you keep the options down, it's pretty reasonable in price). the new 300M... um, not so brilliant. got a few subaru wrx sti stickers (whoo hoo!). i'll bring them w/ me to the meet next weekend if anyone wants one.

that was a real car show... pretty decent amount of introductions, some concepts (like the lexus), and real displays. did i mention too many people? i thought w/ the easter weekend, it wasn't going to be that bad.

Ah, you ba*tard!

Where did you wait? I was at 11th & 35th until 11:30. Did you see the US-spec Elise? Very nice, but very scary at about $40k. Too much for a 4-cyl, no matter how good the handling is.

Yeah, tons o' cabrios, including the new 9-3 in a citron-y green. I've always liked them.

I also left your cell # at home. Oh well. See ya on the 27th!

argh! i thought you meant inside the entrance to the side. we were sort of in front of the ticket booths inside. we did walk around a little every once in a while in the lobby area (which is quite large). but eventually, thought maybe you guys went into the showroom already.

i didn't see the elise - we didn't get a program so we sort of randomly walked around.
