Does anybody in this forum live between Olympia, Wa and Vancouver, BC? I am looking at organizing a possible AMG (or non AMG of course) meet for this summer sometime. If anybody is interested just post. Several C43's and 1 C36 are on the list, and now I am expanding to other body styles. Let me know if you are interested!

Matt:

You got a really nice ride, very clean and tastefully done. I cant wait to see when you do all your next set of mods.

Nice meeting you today. I should have brought my dig camera.

Dennis,

It was great to meet you and see the beast! Thanks for your comments on my car its still a work in progress.

We will definatly have to take pictures next time (hopefully the weather will be nicer too). Anyways, your car is beautiful and fast!

When we were leaving I didnt know if you still wanted to run each other with all the traffic and when you started counting down I was in 3rd gear going like 25mph . So I had to downshift and by that time you were long gone. We will have to do it again at the drags!!!!

Thanks,
Matt

Yeah I know!!! It was just us two and I met him for about an hour just to meet and drool over our cars . Dennis and I are thinking about organizing a GTG at Pacificraceways to do some drags. It would be interesting to see how many people would be willing to do that

Drags or dyno would be fun. Either way, I'm sure we could find people to join in.

Matt: I was hoping we would run into a red light, so we can go all out. Too bad, like you said maybe at the strip. When we split yesterday I ran into a CLK 55 Cab. Black and really clean. There was this 50-60 year old lady driving it. I was hoping to give the 55 a run! Oh well

I would sure be interested in tracking/dynoing my car.

Hey all:

As much fun as it is to drag, I am leaning more towards doing a dyno GTG. Reason being I would like to establish my hp/tq before I start doing engine mods. We could always drag, but I wanna start my engine work soon, so this info would be helpful (Matt, I htink you would agree).

Anyway, place I would like to dyno is in Kirkland. Owner is Alex and he's really cool. I've been talking to him about MB tuning and he wants to get into it, but not much of a need yet. He's been helpful with s/c and chip tuning insight. His site is www.carbconn.com A run of 5 or more peeple would be $65 plus $10 for A/F ratio. A single run would cost $95 w/o A/F ratio.

Let me know what you think, I'm still up for drags if noone is interested.

Why is it cheaper with more people?

I would be interested in a little while, but not in the upcoming days... Maybe in a month or so?

With five or more people he'll be getting at least $300. Much better than a single run of $95.

I was thinking in awhile too, but I dont wanna drag when it starts getting too hot out. Too rough on the car.

Let's see what happens.....

Hey fellas... what's up! I'm new to this Mercedes thing (my E320 is hardly a performance car! :p ) but I'm trying to put together a group discount on the ProFormance driver school at Pacific Raceways. A group of five or more is what will likely need.

I'm going to do the school in my S2000 (a bit more trackworthy than my E) and will probably have a few other S2000s as well.

Please let me know if any of you guys are interested. The reason I want to do the school thing (besides the obvious benefit of becoming a more skilled driver) is that you can then run the "lapping days" that Proformance conducts afterwards...

That sounds pretty cool. I would probably give it a shot. In July, Phil Smart is having a "tune and test" once we figure out what it is maybe we'll get a bunch of people together to go do it.

In the meantime, a drag day is in the making (kinda).

Dennis:

Sorry I havent responded yet. I am definatly down to do the Dyno GTG. I have been doing more reaserch and am now looking at other possiblities other than Kleemann. But before I do any of that I need to get a Base run in to see where I stand. I am ready whenever so just let me know and I'll be there.

P.S. I am going to have those ugly black handles color matched by that auto body shop I was telling you about in Kirkland. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks

I've never done a track 1/4 mile before... I can just imagine the shame of tripping the lights @16.5 or 17 with my heavy a$$ 18"AMG chromes on a stock '03 E320...

Can you post more info on the Phil Smart day when you get it?

Thanks!

3 more "fo sure" and I'll set up the day. Most likely a Saturday. I think you get about 6 runs to establish a baseline. Definitely worth it, especially with the mods you are planning.

I'm also looking into engine mods. I'm gonna order an underdrive pulley set on of these days, and start saving for my s/c. I was thinking about getting a 5.5L engine and swapping out the 4.3, but my wife says it's not worth it. Especially if I want the s/c and the extra 100+hp.

Who knows? I gotta wash my car again, I'm gonna pick up a clay bar and get everything off it.

Me, Eurosport, and Lufamily moght get together tomorrow.

Yeah the more I thought about it the more I relized with your 4.3 if you put a s/c on it, that should quench your hp craving for sometime.

Yes, clay bars work well. Especially to get those few imperfections in the front and back of your car. I would recomend also:

Meiguars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner

Meiguars Deep Crystal Polish

and whatever wax you use

1) Wash your car real well using dishwash liquid to strip any existing wax or polish that might be on there

2) Use Clay Bar

3) Use Paintcleaner

4) Use Polish

5) Apply Wax

This will probobly take up most of your day but the results are unbelievable. If you get some microfiber towels and put some elbow grease into it all those swirl marks on your trunk will magicly disappear

I would love to meet the other guys tomorrow however I go to have my wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow so I doubt Ill be in the mood. Keep me posted on the dyno as I am itching to get it done.

Mainly informal meets. It seems really hard to get everyone organized. There are different forums that meet. I know of a few this summer.

I try and meet the local people, b/c it's cool to know who's around here. Also, if mods are being done, I try and show up so I can check it out too.

Thanks for the info. The S2000 group meets very regularly - we head to Sykart, autocrosses and things like that... A few times we have some big group drives that border on insane...

I think it would be cool to meet some of the local MB peeps...

Sykart is fun. Especially with the 9hp karts. I'm trying to qualify for the 11!

I'm in Seattle... the weekly S2000 meet is in Bellevue at the Azteca on 148th... Three buck for all the tacos you can eat and happy hour drinks. 6:30 until 8-9ish...

Hello all fellow WA members.

I would like to invite you to visit our site. Why you ask? Ask yourself this are you tires of rock chips or dont want any in your new ride. I am sure you will agree.

RockBlocker.com is a Seattle based company that offers pre-cut paint protection kits to prevent rocks and other debris from damaging your vehicle. The products are made from 3M or Venture Tape and are as invisible as it can be. We are a mobile business with over three years of installing the products.

Why would we use us? Thats easy. You can choose to spend the money and buy it from a dealer for a $1000.00, go to StonGard and spend $600.00 or more or we can do it for at your convienence for around $400.00.

Anyone that mentions this thread will receive 10% off the installation price. Thanks and happy motoring!!
