the altnerator on my W124 is shot....probably bot going to be able to make it...anyone have a spare???

 

Funny that you should bring that up because I had it in my mind to try to arrange something some day, where people can bring their cars to race. I love reading the KILL STORIES forums on many car forums. So, arranging for a venue for people to put their money where their mouth is and have a day of fun would be cool... at least I think so. I'm still kicking it around in my head, but that is something that CANNOT happen at this meet. The permit I got does not allow for it and at the first sign of racing, burnouts, donuts and/or tire peeling, our meet will be dismantled by Floyd Bennett Field personnell and we will be sent home. PLEASE - NO RACING!!!

 

You need to hook up with an accredited motorsport organization (SCCA, NASA, TheMClub, PCA, BMWCCA, etc..) and get an autocross going next time. Then get the permit, let the organization handle the insurance.

I will be there... Autocrossing on Sat so my car will be funny looking

Where are you autoxing on Saturday? You should come up a half a day earlier and do the M Club's Friday afternoon autox - I'll be there in the crx.

OK, small update.

Now, for everyone's favorite part, the Rules of Conduct:

1) No speeding, erratic driving or racing- If there is any of this type
of behavior, it will not be looked upon kindly. There is a great danger
when a large number of vehicles are speeding on public roadways. The
last thing we want to do is endanger the safety of our forum members,
and that of people on the roads in general. This includes any overly
aggressive swerving, cutting people off, etc. As there will be a few
caravans en route to the meet, there could be potential for catastrophe
if someone decides to do their best "Fast and Furious" impression.
Maintaining a safe speed on the road and not tailgating other cars can
easily reduce this.

***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
AFTER ALL CARS ARE PARKED, THERE WILL BE NO DRIVING AROUND THE FIELD,
the FBF office was very adament about this being a STATIC DISPLAY,
i.e., no driving, racing, etc etc within the grounds. Although there is
alot of space availible, FBF does not have the emergency support, staff
or equipment to safely facilitate ANY type of racing. It has been made
clear that any type of speeding or erractic driving while on the
premises will result in the meet being disbanded. The authourities will
also be notified. These rules MUST be adhered to with no exceptions.

2) No Loud Music, Burnouts, Excessive Revving- Since we are going to
be gathering in a public area, we will most likely be under much
scrutiny from park security and local law enforcement. This meet could
be ended very quickly with a "loud music" call to the police. The same
holds true for excessive revving, burnouts, etc. The organizers of this
meet understand that there will be people present that have EXTENSIVE
audio/visual mods done to their rides, and want to showcase them. We
fully understand and endorse that, but ask that you keep your
demonstration short and sweet to avoid any unwanted attention. Those
with exhaust mods, will be asked to do the same, just a couple revs
to "show what 'cha got" not sitting there bumping against the rev
limiter. Burnouts/donuts, etc will simply NOT be tolerated at this
meet.

3) No Cross Brand flames- This meet has great potential to birth a
wealth of hybrid meets/collaborations in the future. This could be a
networking opportunity of great proportions! Just think of all the
tuners, shops, online resources, etc. that could be shared amongst 3
premier luxury vehicle groups! The last thing we want to do is let a
few snide comments undermine this effort. The fact of the matter is, we
all drive what we drive for a reason, that reason being solely
important to us as individuals, let's respect that decision across ALL
brands. No matter what, WE ALL STILL LOVE OUR CARS! So let's leave any
pre-conceived notions at home and come with an open mind and respect
for each other and have a GREAT TIME!

The most important part of all of that is about no screwing around at FBF - it's a private facility, not a public park, and we'd like to be in good standing with them.

Once you get to the park, please park with others of your brand. For those who are early, I'll be there to direct, until it's obvious where each brand's spot at the field is.

Right now, it's looking like it'll be partly cloudy on Sunday. We're going to try to have a hot dog vendor or similar at the park, but I'm going to pack something in an igloo for myself, and I'd recommend that to others as well as a backup.

my C320 will not be able to make this event.. a moron cutting through traffic hit the person in the middle lane and they reacted by slamming there car into mine... there insurance is paying for everything... i need a new door signal mirror front fender... car should be done by the middle of next week... however expect to see me in a 2001 Black S500 (dads car)
or a 2004 Blue Acura TL..
