the LA auto show is coming up so i thought i would give a heads up to the socal members. Present your MB key(any year i believe) and you cna get into the Mercedes VIP lounge. Mercedes started this trend a couple years ago and you know everyone else(bmw, lexus) had to follow so now they have lounges as well. Its a good place to get away from the huge crowds and grab a drink and some cookies and cheese.

Is the parking safe, do you know?

I live in nice, safe, generic Orange County, and you know we have the auto lock on our car doors set to lock the minute we cross the county line into LA. Everyone is a car thief there, you know. If they don't jack you at a light, they'll get you while you're parked

The show is at the LA Convention Center, fills most of the buildings, Parking is ten bucks, and the show has $2 discount coupons at Al & Eds Autosound, and many new car dealers. You car is mostly safe, at the indoor parking at the center, but many people park in outlying lots and take a little bus. I don't trust those locations.

LA is safe lisamcgu. No need to worry. Your dealer could probably give you all some free tickets. If you show brabus your keys they will also let you in. Hopefully they have an SLK and a CLS as i want to see brabus versions of that.

Not really, you need to have their black VIP pass hanging around your neck to get in there. I borrowed Rich's last year and got back there, I was treated like royalty, especially after they found out I was part of MBWorld!

What i have done in the past is simply said i owned an MB, showed them my keys, asked to see the brabused out car, speak a little german to thos ****'s, and the little velvet rope goes up, and all the droolers drool as i enter the land of brabus :v Works like a charm

I think I will go this weekend on Sat or Sunday, Maybe we can set a date this weekend and we all can meet up or something. That would be nice. I usually pay $20 and park inside the Convention. I feel this is much safer than the outside parking. Yeah, if you love your car so much, hell, $20 is worth it.

Yeah I remember last year, I just showed brabus my keys, and told the guy I have a brabus kit on. He then asked me where and who I got it from. I just told them i got it from a good buddy of mine that works at F1motor sports. From that point on, they let me in.

I'd be down but I think since it's openning weekend, it's going to be too crowded. I was thinking of possibly going after work during the week. I think the show is open until like 10pm or something so if we get there by 5pm, we'll have more than enough time. We'll see I'll let you guys know if I'm in.

Why is everyone acting like it's a war-zone in downtown LA? Come on people, the days of people running up to your car and jacking you are over. And if someone decides to take it from the parking lot that's just a good excuse for your insurance to kick in and buy you a newer Benz.

I just park at the building I work at and take the DASH to the Convention Center. I could even walk but 12 city blocks can get pretty tiring on the way back.

Im going after the press day at the Detroit show so that there will be some newer cars there. Ill be there with a few friends. Ill definately go to the MB Lounge. Is there a BMW Lounge too?

Sweet...I still have our old Honda spare key you think that might get us anywhere? Also i went down to Keyes yesterday and asked about the Key situation while getting a wiper fixed and a nice car wash. She said it will get me a cheaper ticket inside but not a lounge...????? It was a newer asian rep i had never seen there. She was very nice, also the Black CL65 is out there in the used lot. So my question is what the hell do you trade a CL65 in for?

Got the VIP lounge pass from the dealer so I will be heading out there tomorrow (sunday). Hope to see some of you guys out there. On another note, didn't know so many people went to F1.
