Best Discount for MB Extended Warranty
#107
i get it now. If I remeber correctly, I think it was no sales tax in California. I don't think service contracts in general are taxable, but don't quote me on that. Since I did the transaction with a California dealer, then no tax. If you called Erin she would tell you. She is really friendly and helpful.

2014 MB E350 4Matic Sport
I ended up buying the 7/100 plan from my local dealer. He matched the $2880 price, but I did have to pay NY Sales tax. He first told me he had never heard of such a steep discount, but he ended up matching the price without too much hassle.
Thanks for all of your input.

Just bought a 7 Year/100K Miles MB ELW for my GL350 from Mark Eggleston.
Thank you Forum for recommending Mark - he was easy to get hold of, talk to with no pressure, explained everything with patience, and matched the best deal that I could find in the forums. Thank you Mark.
Ohh...and no Taxes!

First, thank you guys for sharing the info here. This forum is great!
I just registered to leave a feedback. I bought a 2yr/unlimited CPO warranty as well as a prepaid 3yr maintenance package from Erin. Originally there was a minor issue on my CPO status. She tried everything she knows and even asked her colleague Dan to check MB internal system, and eventually helped me solved the issue. After that, she explained all the details about the warranty and the maintenance package. Her quote was indeed the best. The entire transaction was super smooth!
By the way, before I called Erin, I did ask my local dealer about the same package. I told them I read posts online and I know their price is negotiable. But still, they insist on M$RP...
Erin's contact info:
Erin Mahre
MB Santa Rosa, CA
Direct line: (707)521-3996
I find calling her is more efficient than emailing her. Erin is super nice and friendly. She will save you time and money.

So glad to have found this thread. Looks like Erin is a good "current" point of contact for the Extended Warranty that people trust out here.
I was quoted shy of $5k for a 7yr/75k by the dealership when I went in to sign the paperwork. Declined it, will shop around a bit and see if I can get better offers here.
Anyone here know if the sales manager would also handle the prepaid-maintenance plans? I would rather get it done by the same person (and hopefully a better deal).

Yep, Erin can take care of both right on the spot. If you choose to wait on the maintenance piece, you have 10K or before it's first service to do it.
Erin was the cheapest I could find. Good luck..

Cool, thanks! I called her and left a message (also followed up via an email) but haven't heard back from her. Her voicemail states she is now the Finance Director, so she must be doing well and hopefully not too busy to deal with this anymore!

That's the problem though...3 phone calls (each went to voicemail), left 1 message, sent an email as well and been a day and half. Still no response or call back. I am beginning to think she might be OOO or might no longer be actively engaged with mbworld-sourced requests?

Quick update for anyone searching for a great deal on Extended Warranty and/or Prepaid maintenance, I finally got a 7year/100k + 3 pack and I would highly highly recommend reaching out to Jason.
Having tried the usual names here who stopped responding after giving quotes (as others have mentioned in the forums), I got Jason's post here and reached out to him.
Not only was he super-responsive, you don't have to leave endless voice messages, just shoot him an email and he'll get back to you soon after and take it from there. It was really one less burden on my head having dealt with Jason, he was that easy to work with. Here is his info if you want to reach him (extra points if you are also a Cheesehead, if not, I am sure he won't mind):
Jason Mayes (jmayes@mbofelmbrook.com)
Mercedes-Benz of Elmbrook
2230 E. Moreland Blvd.
Waukesha, WI 53186
(w) 262.821.5000x338

<Disclaimer - I don't endorse for any reason other than having experienced excellent service>

I can confirm that contacting Jason Mayes will save you a ton. I emailed him yesterday after reading several ELW posts here. It was quick and painless. Do yourself a favor and contact him. I was dealing with GA dealers that would not budge on outlandish pricing. He's the real deal.
Thanks,
Jack

Let me kind of ask a stupid question here on this open thread. I have been looking for a warrenty for the MB that I bought a few months ago. A 2006 E350 Basic with about 78K miles. THe other night one of the quotes I got was shocking to say the least. They wanted $750 deposit and then $475 a month for the next 12 months for a total of $6400 for a 3 year warrenty... does that sound right? I mean I only paid $11.5K for the car. I have a $95,000 motorhome that is a 2008 and my FULL warrenty on it, to include the fridg, stove, Micro, ACs, plumbing, electrical and engine/drive train...etc is only $625 a year. Just asking, and if it should be that costly, what am I missing?
