Thanks guys, I am calling the local Fidelity rep on Monday and I am hoping for some good numbers for my 06 SL55 030 Performance pack with 41k on it!

Please let us know your findings. My understanding as well is that Fidelity no longer offers coverage on AMG cars, but I could also have got wrong info. Would love to see pricing on '06 sl65....

Fidelity Platinum shows in their exclusions that they don't cover shock absorbers. So who is left that is reputable and does?

Shocks != struts, are you sure you need shocks?

I've never seen a 3rd party warranty cover shocks, not even fidelity platinum (as you mentioned) which is very reputable.

I had both my front struts covered by warranty but they wouldn't dish out $$$ for OEM, just Arnott, but I heard recently companies are removing strut coverage, but I had my contract signed 18 months ago for platinum coverage.

Last month front right strut was leaking, tire rod was bad, needed to replace wheel bearing and rodeo service, and replace the vaccum pump and to my surprised they covered it all which I wasn't expecting, but the catch was an inspector had to see all the problems but after that they okay'd the service.

After putting the first strut in and attempted to do a rodeo, SDS refused to allow the car go through rodeo as the front left strut gave an error code for the plunger sensor.

Called the warranty about it, gave them the code, 2 hours later they approved the claim for the front left strut as well.

I had Fidelity send a rep out TWICE to OK huge repair bills on my S55, once for $7K at an MB dealer (ABC, etc) and once for $5K at my independent (went in for a trunk problem, came out with a whole bunch of new parts. Love my indie!)

I also had several repairs OK'd by Fidelity without a rep visit, most notably a headlight which I think was $1200 at the indie.

Fidelity kicks ***.

I just put a tentative offer on a CPO 2009 GL550 and am on the fence trying to decide on +2 years of CPO ($2600 from the almighty Miss Erin) or Fidelity Platinum 4/xx or 5/xx.

MB Austin's web site docs show that CPO covers "air suspension struts" which was a concern I had, but it doesn't mention differentials for GL like it does specifically for M. My understanding is that Fidelity covers basically everything under the car except pads and rotors, exhaust, and tires. (obviously it covers the rest of the car as well).

Any comments?

Yeah rotors, pads, spark plugs, bulbs, weren't covered. Maybe cars with ABC Hydraulic were covered but IDK, I know exhaust is not covered, but car companies need to back things like cats for 8 yrs/80,000 miles

My ignition coils and labor was over $2800 but didn't need a rep since I had 10/12 misfires in the OBDII Scan

My engine mount/abc pump claim needed a rep but that was a huge bill the covered (easily over 4,000)

Replacing just bushings in my car which was only 600 didn't require a rep

The first strut, tire rod, wheel bearing, vacuum pump, and rodeo which was almost 3,000 needed a rep

Second strut with a code didnt need a rep since it was 600

SL63
Good to see this thread. I am looking at a 2009 SL63. Non-Mercedes dealer looking to sell me an extended warranty through Ally. Anyone have or heard of them versus what seems to be good reviews for Fidelity here. Concerned that I will be challenged by the warranty company if/when anything ever goes wrong. Car only has 2K miles.

M-B Extended Limited Warranty

A brief comment on Erin Mahre at M-B of Santa Rosa,CA. After I researched extended warranties through M-B dealers and third party providers, I left a message for Erin to get back to me. Within a day or so, she called. She was pleasant, professional and straight forward. Her explanation of the coverage and quote for the coverage took my breath away. I am pleased and comfortable with my decision on the purchase of the coverage. Erin's direct number is 707-521-3996. Check her out.

I made it well north of $15000 in covered repairs before I ran out of years. The only item not covered was a control arm or some other clearly and specifically excluded suspension part that was not covered past 50000 miles (I needed it at 61k)

$15 grand in repairs for $3,200, but I don't think that price is available now (4/60k for $3,200)

Can someone post a phone number? Looks like there's a lot of new info going on here since the thread originally started.

"I have the wheel and tire warranty as well which has paid for itself 5 times over (5 tires and 2 wheels)."

There is a lesson here for all to consider...

I just talked to Erin and she is woderful.

I am going to be real honest with you all and my dealer charged (gouged) me on the 7yr/100k and the process of un-doing it was very clean and easy. I paid a GIANT number and simply didn't know any better.

She can price prepaid service for you as well.

What are the qualifications to buy from her? Do you have to be the original owner? Mileage limit?

You do not have to be the original owner but there does have to be some/any amount of factory 4/50K warranty remaining for her to sell an extended policy through MB.

2010 MB S550
Based on this thread I looked into Fidelity for an extended warranty on my 2010 S550. It sounds like most of you had great experiences with them but then I saw all these really bad reviews...

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/auto_.../fidelity.html

Is this the same company?

USAA is the best, no deductible and cover coil packs, ABC componenets, almost everything include supercharger/turbocharger.
