Warranty options after 4/50K expiration
What options are best for a warranty as close to the MB ELW which can get me to 7 years? Any successful third party options?

ELW's aren't always cheap so shop around and decide how much the peace of mind is worth to you. be sure to have the car checked by a mechanic before you buy and see if the dealer can verify the maintenance history.
With Certified MB's,
I got a 57 Month, unlimited mile warranty.
It had 18 months left on initial warranty.
Certified added 1 yr.
I bought the Extended MB Warranty 24 months.
All MB Certified used, come with unlimited mile warranty's... Just have to get the extended plan. Highly Suggested. Just new tire's cost $350... (thank goodness i bought the FIX MY S***T. Warranty)

Since I drive about 9k a year, the unlimited miles was not a big consideration. I was able to get a good third party warranty covering the next 50k miles (a little over 5 years for me) for a little more than the cost of the 2 year CPO extension (guessing about $2,500 for that) not considering my car was less expensive than I could have gotten a CPO for at the time.

Why would you PREPAY for a repair/issue that most likely will not happen? On one hand your buying a quality, well built, german engineered car, which you should feel great about and smile... then on the other hand people are paying $2k, $3k, even more for a warranty which is contradicting of the quality reasons your buying an MB for in the 1st place?
Even if there was an issue down the road... a $2k, $3k or more repair bill? Not likely.

Major problem is that MB's are very, very expensive to repair if something breaks. And the repair rate is quite high for MB vehicles.
I have a seven year one about to expire and it saved me money due to reliability issues.
Like the car and plan to keep it, but also considering extending the warranty again.
Have owned over 20 cars and MB is first one I ever got or needed a warranty on.
