Thinking about a G....
Hi.
Usually on the CLS forum but I have had my eye on a G500 for a long time. I want to get a used one and not pay a ton of money.
Are the 2002's reliable?
Is there anything missing in the 02's that the newer ones have.
Anything to watch out for?
Any tips appreciated.
Thank you....

*Look to pay no more than 45k for a nice CPOd one*
From personal experience what Dutch says is true.
However, apart from the wing mirror indicators, the 2002 G500 looks just like the newer ones. Don't buy before 2002 though as they were 'grey' imports and have terrible interiors.
Best thing about the G is the styling will never date.. Just about the only evergreen car on the road.

Nothing wrong with a grey import; and there are a lot of folks who feel that the interior of and the lack of unnecessary electronics in the pre-2002's are more desirable features than the newer ones. Take a look at Ebay. The pre-2002's - i.e. Europa International imports - with similar mileages generally bring higher prices than the 2002 and 2003 model years.

Don't get an import if you want to impress anyone while cruising. I'd put up with a bit of electrical griping to get the styling of the 2002+ models. Far nicer
