My wife and I just got an 07 G500. It's certified pre-owned.
Here's some pictures the dealer took:

Not sure how long these will be up.
The dealer also sold an 04 G55 that same day right before we got there.
I think we got a really good deal.

It's hard to value these because they are too new to have a bluebook value.
Edmunds lists it at $71k. That's what the dealer was asking originally.
I've seen them on ebay for $68k.
We got it for under $68k and it's pre-owned and has a total of 4 years of warranty left.

We were looking at an 05' at another dealer, but one did not have the back spare tire cover and the dealer (this is a mercedes dealer mind you) did not even mention budging on the price. Those covers are $2200! Plus we saw the car and we came back a few days later and it was all dirty inside. It looked like someone borrowed it for the weekend. Mud was all on the back of the seats, stains in it now. Awful dealership. Also, we wanted xenon's because my wife has trouble seeing at night. She has had some eye surgeries.

So I found an 07 and I did not think I could afford it. But the salesman knew this and he dropped the price drastically over email because he knew we wouldn't come look at it if we didn't think we could afford it. So I find myself looking at an 05 that needs a $2100 tire cover, 2 less years of warranty, and doesn't have the xenon's, or the 07 with everything we wanted. I negotiated a bit more and we bought the car.

I never drove the 05, but my wife says the 07 drives much better. I think it is the 7 speed transmission they added. It seems to move from a stop much easier.

The car is great. I do wish it got better gas mileage, but we knew this before we bought it.

Driving it home we did get two license plate lights out which I am going to ask the dealer to fix for free since we only had the car for 1 hour.

I would like to somehow add bluetooth to it, but I'm not sure if this is
possible.

Congrats on the car...The G-wagons are definitely classy SUVs...might I ask how much you purchased it for and the mileage, just may be in the market soon.

Congratulations !!!!!
Julian,

Congratulations on the new addition to your family.

I know you will enjoy your Geländewagen!

Just in case, for future reference an option if you lose/stolen/choose not to replace the $2,200 "metal" tire cover you can order a canvas Mercedes-Benz tire cover.

Respectfully,

James Van Thach

onamission,

Another option you may want to try the "Mercedes G Wagen Spare Tire Cover w/ Compartment" offered by G-wagen Accessories.
