hi there, i have been looking for a new powerful luxury SUV, I've looked at:
2011 Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG
2011 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged
2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged
2011 BMW X5 M
I narrowed it down to the first 2 on the list, i love mercedes i have them all my life, i grew up with mercedes', and want another but then the range rover was so different and fun, i enjoyed the g55 when i test drove it a lot more, but i like all the little things the range rover has, like keyless entry more advanced navigation and everything, THE SCREEN in the G55 is horrible so low i can barely see it what do i do i love that car just some flaws, is it as safe as it seems?

each one of these cars has its own personality
sometimes it depends on your own
so g55 for a high class man , you should never smile and have a personality of a king
land rover for a spoiled man , and to show ppl that your rich not only by ur car even with style and lookings
X5 M for bad a** guy , you'll be f***ing around will full throtle all the time and always ready for any race ,on any street ,on any signal and in any time
g55 has no options at all but has the best looks
land rover has all the options but not the best looks
x5 m has some options and a good shape on the road
on the power
the x5 m is the strongest then comes the g55 then the land rover

2013 G 63 AMG
How tall are you...I have no problems viewing the screen on my G55. Have you tried adjusting the seat height a little lower? I think you should also keep in mind that the G55 is a military vehicle modified for road use, not something designed from the ground-up for city use. If that is not important to you, then don't buy it. It's sorta like buying a yacht but never taking it out of the marina.

2009 Subaru WRX & 2010 C63
As previously stated, each vehicle has it's own personality.
Here is my professional opinion of each, from someone who has worked for each one of these manufacturers at the dealership level.
Land Rover Supercharged Sport/Ranger Rover: Both have great road manors but lack in build quality and reliablity. They look wonderful but are woefuly slow for the price. The chassis has been around since 2004 and it shows. But this does give the most off-road capability.
BMW X5m: Wow. Well, down right scary when at speed. So much fun but a bit odd. Is it a car? An SUV? SAV? Yes, it is more of a Sport Activity Vehicle rather than a true-blue SUV. But that is how BMW intended. Not a lot of problems with this car at all, actually.
MB G55: Drives like a vehicle it's wieght, unlike the X5M or a RRS. But hey, it has power and can handle it. We see some minor electrical issues, but no more than a BMW though muchless than a RR.
Ultimately, the choice is yours. Though I would recommend purchasing 2 Range Rovers so that you have something to drive while the other one is in the shop. Just a thought.

BMW is the best car objectively. Has the worst sounding V8 on planet, though.
Forget about RR Sport. It is crap.
So it is indeed between Range Rover and G55. Range Rover is definitely a more "normal" usable car.
G55 is a fun car, much more opinion divider. Best sounding engine ever. Would say it is not really a daily driver - due to noise (wind rush+intrusive bass exhaust) and fuel consumption.

MB: E55 AMG, CL550, E3004M Cab + other makes :)
the Range Rover Sport SC is not worth the extra for the SC, since it is still slow as hell. The g55 is quick but it a cruise ship on wheels. The x5m is nice and quick, and has fresh styling. It's up to you. More room needed? g55. Want to have fun? x5m

I would take the G55 hands down. That G-Wagon has "Kult-Status" like they say in German. Love the design, love the power, distinct sound of the engine when it drives by, a real head turner in my opinion. Unfortunately i never owned one myself, but one of these days...
