Rims damage spreading 2010 G55
Hi, I have a 2010 G55 and i noticed a few months ago that around the Mercedes star in the center of the rim there is some kind of rust or something developing. First it was on just one of them now it has grown significantly on one and is starting to come out on the remaining three, i tried cleaning its not dirt and the car wash i take my car to say its some kind of rust but i don't know.
If any of you guys can help me in anyway in telling me what it is or how i can avoid it spreading or how to fix this and if any of you had the same thing with your car i will highly appreciate it

thanks in advance

You have a warranty, I suggest using it. If the rims are actually rusting at least you'll have a documented repair order with MB that may serve you in the future should anything need replacing. You may also want to check the composition of the wheel cleaner being used. Many detailers and car washes still use acid based wheel cleaners which basically attack the wheel surface and ultimately will dissolve metal.

Those are alloy wheels which wont rust.. It looks like oxidation under the clear coat. I would have the dealer look at them it seems like a waranty issue.. The only time i have seen this not be covered is when a tire shop banaced a guys wheels incorrectly and scratched up the center bore and cause it to corroide.. did you have your tires balaced
