Hello
Im sorry for not posting much lately. I was gone for a while.
Also, my re-upholstered parts that were done in Turkey got lost on the way back. They arrived to Atlanta missing package recovery center on the 5th and have been MIA since.
I filed missing package claim on line with USPS and sender need to do the same. Some USPS people say its laying there at Atlanta and they will ship it to me when they locate it, some say it was shipped back to the sender, back to Turkey.
Im very upset with the whole situation because I can't do the final details with taking the car to the dealer, getting final details figured out until I have the steering installed and everything buttoned up.
Im to the point where I might need to purchase another steering wheel, send it back to Russia to get it re-programed and buy another sun visors, gear knob, handbrake handle and get them re-approlstered again.
Which means I need to buy more leather and alcantara..... just bummed out with USPS and whole lost package thing.
I will wait another week or two and if nothing comes up I will have to purchase another set of the missing parts and do it all over again (with a RUSH)

Thanks for the update. Hang in there. You have come a long way with this build. A couple of more weeks isn't long to wait compared to the length of the overall build. It is frustrating for sure. You have created something very special. Bring it home!!!

Haha, thank you
I’ll bring it home for sure, just frustrating that this happened last minute after having no shipping issues until now.

Oh boy, that is an absolute bummer!! I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through in regards to this USPS ordeal.
Bless you and props to your patience, hopefully things work out and they send it over ASAP!
keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks
It was so close ... that’s what is frustrating
but it’s ok, I did all I can from my end.
Worst case, I’ll get another set of missing parts and wait done more ((

I used 3M double-sided foam tape.
before attaching the molding to the body of the car I applied 3M Primer 94 to the panels right where the tape is going to make contact, just give it better adhesion.

Can I ask where you got the molding from? my door has 1 part missing (the silver piece, not the black part)

I actually bought all the silver strips from the same seller that sold me all of the G63 parts. He replaced his with carbon fiber looking ones.
Im not sure if dealer sells them.
You can also buy them on EBay, I see sets for sale on there.

The w463 section of this forum has pretty much died now that you're done with the build.
For the good of the forum, I ask for you to start a new build. One could always use a chopped g wagon -

I still have few more things to do. And then fine tune the details.
im also considering 55 AMG engine swap when I find a doner (wrecked E55 or S55). But that’s after I sort out everything with current car and enjoy it a bit )

Figuring out the mirror was a bit challenging. First I had to figure out which wires do what.
Then its just wiring those wires to the correct power source (turn signal, puddle light, blind spot). Im not going to bother with the folding option.
Then there is the plug, which just plugs in to the plug that comes with the car. I think it mostly does the work of moving the mirror around.
DRL in the headlight surround... I purchased DRL module on Ebay and wired it to the power source that I found in the fuse box, that comes on with a turn of the ignition. The rest was pretty simple. The DRL module comes with some simple instructions as well.

does the blind spot system work 100%? does your right mirror turn downwards when you put the car in reverse?
