Would you be able to share which wires you had to switch around or switch their pinning to get the face lifted Hazard control switch panel to work. Thank you!
So basically... the way I figured it out was by purchasing a facelifted W203 switch panel (with the plugs included). Those newer plugs are needed for the facelifted switch panel.
You might be able to find some for sale on eBay that have plugs included and wires were just cut.
I then compared wires and soldered the new plugs on to old wires.
Ill upload few pictures that show what the plugs look like... but I don't have any pictures of what it looked like when it was plugged in to the back of the switch panel or which wires I soldered to where.
From what I remember.... I don't think it was to complicated to figure out once you have new and old switches side by side.
I remember that blue wire.... I don't recall what I did with it....
I want to say that I didn't even plug it in because there was nowhere to plug it in.
It’s difficult to make out the plugs. But this is the best they have.
Thank you so much for the pictures and taking the time. One more question, how do you know which wire to soldier so which? Did you go by colors or did you have a wire pin out diagram? I would think the facelift didnt come with the exact same color wires.
Hey s02g500, sorry I didn't respond to your text, I've been super busy. I'm still not done with my 2003, but when I am, I'll let you know if I use the speedometer module or not.
Anyways, for anybody who needs to know..... I also did not plug the blue wire back in and I do not know what it does as everything functions properly without it. To successfully facelift this specific unit, as well as the climate unit, just match the pinouts on the wires from the vehicle and the unit. If you look closely at the harness from the vehicle, you'll see numbers starting at 1 through X (depending on the amount of wires in the plug). On the hazard switch panel and climate switch panel, you'll see the same numbers, just match them up. 99% of the time, they'll have the same amount of pins, so it's not hard to figure out which wires from the car go into the unit's plugs. All you have to do it just match them up. You can de-pin it or you can buy some female to male pins on amazon. I have 3 G's a 2003, 2009, and 2013. I'll check the 2009 to see if there is a blue wire, but I cannot promise that it will happen anytime soon. I've never actually cracked both open, I've only facelifted the 2003's interior to a 2007+ model.

There are 4 plugs in the back of the hazard switch control unit, so I'm assuming the 2002 has for seperate pigtails as well. Each plug has it own numbering of pins that starts with 1 to X. So how do you know which pigtail from the 2002 goes into which plug on the face lifted unit?
As for the climate control from what I see from plug shape and a few threads I've read online, it's just a direct plug and play and no re-pining or anything needed as the 2002 pigtail plugs right into the new digital climate control unit off of the w209 CLK with the REST on the button.
The silver window and door switches are beautiful. I read that you had them done in Russia and they were plug and play. What did that upgrade entail/cost?
How is the android based head unit working for you? I recently picked up a 2005 G55 and am looking to upgrade the command unit. Not looking to do the facelifted stereo, just looking for something to replace my factory head unit and retain steering wheel button functionality while adding Bluetooth and some other functionality.

I decided not to drive the car in the rain, dry weather only. We all know these cars are prone to rust.... so the dryer it stays the better is going to look for longer time.
