I have done some upgrades to my new to me G-Wagon, smoked out the lights, added 275/65/18 GoodYear DuraTrac Tires, New Grill, Brush Guard and Rear Ladder. My New G63 Exhaust arrives this week and will be near completion. All the work was done by Rizza Autobody in Des Plaines Illinois.

I am posting the photos to give others ideas if they are thinking about doing modifications.

I am still looking for a way to play my Iphone through the 2.5 Command unit if anyone has any insights it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
KC

Welcome to the forum. Beautiful truck!!!
Would you mind sharing where you got the rear ladder form, did it require any drilling through the truck body?
Thanx

Thanks for the kind words, it required no drilling into the body. I would never drill into the body of this car as they rust fairly easily. Ask and you shall receive

Looks really good! I like that tire size, how are those goodyears working out for you so far? I had a hard time deciding between them and the new K02, but ultimately ended up going with the K02's.

Interesting you ask as I was in a similar boat as you. I had KOs (1st version) on Wranglers and previous Jeeps (XJ,WJ) in the past and wasnt a huge fan of the ride. I did some research on the Duratrac and I saw a lot of Wranglers guys liked the Duratrac cause it was offered in 2 different weights for the sidewalls (Standard and 1 ton). Some of the Wrangler guys said the standard was a bit bouncy but I knew the G was heavy so I thought to give the standard sidewall a shot, and honestly they ride as nice as the street Yokohamas that came off the truck but with a little more road noise on the highway. Also because they are knobby my MPG went down between .5-1 MPG on the highway and in the city but who cares, I think these are the tires the truck should have come with.

Awesome rig, and great observation on the decline in gas/mileage.

Exhaust is on and I was able to test all 3 Differential Locks and they all work!
