Thanks, this thread helped me out a lot on my build also. I let the bodyshop figure out the pump. I went with 50mm springs and shock combo from arb/ome. Also had custom 22x10.5 wheels cut from savini wrapped in 33x12.50. Did the whole g63 conversion and blacked out mostly everything. For the steps what I actually did was clean and sand it down then sprayed 3 coats of rustoleom truck bed coating. Came out really nice and costed about $20. I had a custom stereo system installed with the pioneer nex 8200 but my FM signal got static now, anyone know a fix? I tried 3 different antennas but no luck.

Venom, your G looks great! I have a few question for you.

What brakes are you running? The rotors look after market and my are due to be replaced. Did you paint the calipers or where they already red? Also where did you get the carbon fiber trim?

Oh and 1 suggestion change out that orange side marker for a clear or smoked!

Those brakes are actually oem. I did paint the calipers red. I just ordered a set of rotors from crossdrilledrotors.ca and will install them next weekend. I bought the cf trims from a seller on ebay sm1365 but he doesnt seem to have any more right now. I did replace the markers for smoked already lol.

G550
Hi @GEEWAGOON & @Venom-AMG,

I just got a 2013 G550 and want to convert to G63 look but it's very confusing what do I actually need. I've been looking at some Chinese body kits on Ebay but some say it won't fit. I'd like to change the front bumper and fender flares, grill and remove the OEM guard.

Could you please share what exactly did you purchase in order to convert to G63 look?

Mine is just like the G550 on the left and I'd like to convert to look like the picture on the right ( without the guard)

This is the kit I've been thinking to get but again not sure if this will fit and look good: https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Mercede...kAAOSw3bxbIuf2

Thanks

My G let me down a few days ago for the first time. I know all about the fuel system and electrical system that powers it if anyone has a similar issue. Had a bad burnt connector that feeds into the rear SAM.

Also anyone powder coated their running boards? took them off while the car was down but trying to find the best way to remove the rubber pieces without damaging them.

patch work while i was waiting for my new harness

Should i go black grille also? or leave the pinch of chrome? Also thinking about doing the emblems black for the full black out.

Personally I think if you black the grille out it will get lost behind the brush guard. Awesome looking G tho!

I'm thinking of going same route with the OME medium springs and was wondering if they might be little too stiff compared to my stock G500 springs.
I heard that the Thor springs are much softer ride but it raises the front like 70mm which they suggest changing out the brake and locker lines to longer ones.

My ride is pretty stiff, but I don't think it will be noticeable from stock in my opinion. To be honest it was stiff when i first got it on street tires. It has straight axles and your probably going to add a more aggressive tire.

I'm sorry, but i can't find the contact information at the moment for where I bought the parts from. It was a small shop out of CA that specialized in these conversions.

2014 G550 bumper conversion

Where are you G owners purchasing the conversion kits!!! Has anyone rewired the Led fog lights to replace the directional round lights and made them work?

Brush-guard Removal - You probably figured this out by now, but for anyone else wondering the bolts are straight up from under the bumper. If you lay on your back looking up with a flashlight you'll see the path to the bolt.

I ended up buying G63 Flares, but I've seen people that have trimmed them. You can't tell from far, but the flares aren't that expensive.

Thanks. I was going to trim them but I went ahead and ordered new front flares. They were cheap enough. Just waiting on them now.
