Delay in 2017 G550

Does anyone know if there is a delay in the certification or entry of the G550 for 2017? I ordered my car almost 5 months ago and it finally arrived to the San Diego port 2 weeks ago and has been unloaded from the boat but it hasn't started the customs clearing process. My dealership is baffled as the entire process normally only take 7 days to reach their location in NorCal Bay Area. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

Yes, there is a delay for some reason.

Happens sometimes when New Model Years come out...weird, because the 2017 G63 has already been released.

Stay patient, should be released before the end of the month.

I am sure you will hear from your Dealer ASAP once it is finally released.

I will post here once I get word, however.

Yes definitely.

Wait for an update from your dealer, if they don't contact you by tomorrow, reach out to them.

Wow G550 Squared I am guessing you are discussing, amazing truck. If I could afford one I would buy one. Honestly, what was Mercedes thinking with those Walleye headlights??? Awful the projectors need to be centered in the headlight, that looks terrible! I am sure its due to the increased ground clearance but it looks really bad. (Just my opinion)

Nope I'm talking about the standard G550. The G550^2 is a little to ostentatious for my simple style. Can't wait to get it.

Nav Screen is bigger/clearer, and the Rear View Camera has the grids finally.

Also, much more Interior/Exterior options...specifically designo Manufaktur.

My understanding is that the nav upgrade is a lot more significant than just the bigger screen and better rear view camera. If it's the same as my brother's 2016 GLC, the nav has a lot of nice new features, such as being able to easily browse for upcoming gas stations and featured restaurants along your entire route instead of just the next 3 exits (which you can't really browse anyway on the 2016 and older G's). It also adds Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

My dealership, as of today, says the car still hasn't moved from port. After the car has been released, how long should I expect it to take to move through the process and up to us in NorCal? Thanks! So excited!

Correct, it is the entire new NTG 5*1 System, which also includes Smartphone Integration.

Much smoother than the older system.

Depends on how far away your Dealer is from the Port of Entry.

It generally takes us 24-48 Hours once a car leaves our Port to physically deliver the car, however that is extremely quick compared to most places.

Yes and they affirmed that timeline also...but the car still hasn't moved from the port though. Do you show cars moving on your end?

No.

For some reason the entire country is still "in process". No Dealers have them yet.

You will get it soon enough, and it will be worth the wait!

My 2017 G550 has been released from the port but hasn't been assigned a car carrier. Painfully slow... Has anyone gotten a 2017 G550 yet?
