The tow hitch is interesting. I take it you had to remove the big skid plate underneath. When you did that, was the factory location present to bolt on the tow hitch?
Also, did you have to run the trailer wiring from the front of the car all the way to the back? How did you get signal for the brake controller?
Once you took that ugly skid plate off all the mounting pieces for the factory trailer hitch is there All u haft to buy is the actual hitch part in the secondary skid plate and as for the wire kit I originally ordered factory wire harness but it's back ordered three months so we race trophy trucks so I had my electrician make a wire harness with a break commander and to take that ugly skid plate off only took us about 20 minutes

We made a new fuse box with the relays and everything u would need it's a full standalone system what Mercedes cannot say you did anything to mess it up I could send you a picture of what we did and it all works great
That's an whole Nother story of how it rides it rides great minus a lot of sagging in the rear as you guys know KW is the manufacturer of the shocks I have a friend in the Motorsports division and we're trying to get a different spring rate in the rears so we won't get as much sag and we can have more weight

Hi I have a 2017 g550 4x4 squared and wanted to install a trailer hitch to install a bike rack. I called Mercedes Benz fletcher jones in Newport Beach, Ca and they said they didn't offer installation on it.
What trailer hitch did you buy?
Was it an easy install, could I do it myself?
Do you happen to have pictures of where and how it was installed? i.e. pictures of the placement and bolts?
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance!
