Rear center Headrest for G550

Anyone know of a lead on a rear center headrest for a 2013 G550 black interior?
Mine has been missing, MB can't confirm when they can have one and supposedly very expensive.

I found the center head rest to be in the way of my rear view. so i took mine out and put it in the house in case another gets damaged. (sand interior).

Cant seem to be able to take mine off and pulled with some pretty good force...there a trick to it? Thanks, I agree that it get in the way..

I removed mine also and stored it away. Will replace when I turn the truck in at the end of the lease. It should slide right out when you depress the little button where the headrest shaft slides into the seat back. All three come out easily in order to facilitate folding the seats flat.

My 2010 rear head rests would not come out no matter how hard I pulled or pushed any secret buttons. Took it to the dealer who also could not figure it out. So they disassembled the rear plastic cover on the back of the rear seats only to find a steel cotter pin threaded into the pole of the headrest making it impossible to remove, or adjust, without removing the cotter pin. I removed all three pins.

Yep..Im afraid that may be the case on mine....Hopefully the seats are not to hard to disassemble...

Anyone have success with replacing the center headrest with a smaller head rest that doesn't block the view as much on a 2000-2018 g class? I'm thinking something like the headrest that 3rd row seats have in other cars. In fact, I think the 2019+ g class switched the center head rest to something smaller that is 3rd row like. Maybe a headrest from another MB SUV with a 3rd row- like GLS or GLB?
Also- random and off topic- but does the sunroof shade in our trucks NOT open? It only opens when the glass is opened?

Not sure about the headrest options, I have my middle one stored. I've never had a 3rd passenger back there, so hasn't been an issue. For the sunroof shade, there is no glass, it's metal, so that's not really a shade, it's just fabric.

Thanks for the quick reply- sun roof is metal...ahhh that makes sense.
I feel like the head rests have to be some sort of universal fit- only because they are meant to be removed to fold the seats....and I think all 3 are the same.

Therefore, I feel like there has to be some other smaller head rest that will work...something like this one in the pic?
