Following my day 2 of ownership tradition; the badges are removed. Also part of the tradition, my wife rolls her eyes and tells me not to touch her car.
We don't need no stinking badges

I don't think all AMG lines get the flat bottomed steering wheel. I ordered the 8XX series interior and was told that the flatbottomed steering wheel does not come on the 8XX series upgraded interior? Hope that's not the case, since I like the flat bottom (I'm fat, hahaha).

My dealer is expecting two next week. Both are sold but he will call to give me a chance to look over one up close and in person. My present G lease is do for turn in in March, so I have some time to see how things shake out with the supply chain.

The more I look at your new G, the more I love the colour. Just looks so good on the G. This colour, also looks amazing on the Full Size Range Rover. Perfect, big SUV colour!! Congrats again. So beautiful, cool and amazing!!

Congrats for sure. Great color and love that you have it on some dirt right out of the gate. Two things I'm dying to get a better look at if you are so inclined to take a pic. A close of up shot of the red/yellow side marker embedded in the strip. Am 100% going to be swapping those out for the euro strips at some point. And the side view behind the rear wheel. I'm curious how the rear wheel is connected to the rear door. Was thinking of taking the rear wheel off mine when it comes but not sure what entailed.

Rear Side Marker - back half
Rear Side Marker - front half
Here's a pic of the spare connection. BTW, the door jamb states that the spare is sized 265/50R20.

My next area of curiosity, since I am thinking about larger on/off road tires. The rear tire mount.
Looks like a key lock, but really isn't
There's only half an inch left on the threads. so a larger tire won't fit
A taller tire will need a soft cover - maybe something like "Jeeps are for girls"
Confirmed - one size smaller than the 275/50R20 mounted on the G
Identical rim - which I probably scratched trying to remount
I couldn't remove this mount - I need a bigger wrench. It is painted underneath

You're doing a wonderful service with all these detailed pics. If you take off the rear tire mount, please to take a pic. Very curious.
Would also love to see a wide angle shot of the whole rear w/o the spare on it. But don't take it off again for me!
Thanks again.

I decided to put the G to work this morning. The first thing I noticed is the the spare tire gets in the way of my cargo carrier. Luckily, I had an extender handy.
