Tips for installing spare tire cover
Are there any tips for installing the stainless steel ring of the spare tire cover? Mine keeps loosening after a while and creates clunking noise. If I make it too tight, I cannot wrap it over the “trim” on the cover, if you know what I mean. Thanks.

It's a pretty awful design for anyone who has to take it off. There was a good vid on YouTube that shows how to remove it though and reinstall.

Do you still have the link to this video by any chance? All I could find was a video of removing the cover for a Sprinter van. Thanks.

I'll see if I can find it again.
My only tip is to have another pair of hands. I made my wife keep the stainless ring lined up on the cover towards the top while I fastened it at the bottom. By myself was proving difficult after a couple egg nogs.

I'm going tor take mine off and put a vinyl cover on, prefer the looks and hopefully take a few grams off of the tailgate
@JesseRohr thanks for the suggestion to have another pair of hands handy though!
in case anyone is interested, here's the factory vinyl tire cover
