For the 2018 and older G63 it was 1000 miles. No full throttle acceleration, gentle braking, speeds under 75/80 mph and then the 2000 mile AMG differential service is mandatory.
You guys realize that there is no need for a "break in period" for modern vehicles, right? Manufacturers do that to allow the new owner time to learn the vehicle. It is proven that most accidents happen for a new vehicle in the first 500-1000 miles (while the new owner is "learning" the vehicle).

Not the case with modern motors. Not only are the parts more precise, but they do a break-in at the factory, so, in theory, you can hammer the motor the minute you climb into the vehicle. I don't recommend that for a new Huracan rear-wheel drive (with the ESP off) or you will find yourself pointing backwards on the on-ramp

I broke in several of my BMWs by driving them from BMW Welt in Munich straight to the Autobahn for high speed driving. There’s something sweet about doing 150 mph with less the 50 miles on the odometer.
I’m surprised regarding how tame the breakin procedure
is. One would think that you’ve bought an amg and it’s ok to put in sport or sport plus modes, obviously avoid high revs and keep varying the revs.
picked up my g63 and was going though the manual - I guess have it drive it like a Prius for initial 1k miles. Good news is that it’s only 1k!
not according to the service department at my local dealer and I got it in email as backup. I could only find literature pointing as any AMG with rear LSD requires 1875 miles or 3000 km service.
fwiw my previous c63 has the diff service sticker, not the g63

tbh, I hated old G63 when I drove a brand new 2016..2x range rovers later, loving this one but it definitely a bit raw / less refined than a Range Rover yet it has its own charm and quirks

If something breaks on the car for not doing the correct break in I would think Mercedes could tell from the computer ? That is just my guess. In my opinion it makes it fun waiting for that 1,000 miles. We have 300 on our new g63. I can’t wait to see how different it is from the previous models

Now that some people have more miles on their 19 G63's, how many have got the diff service at/around 2,000 miles? My SA couldn't find anything about it even being a recommended service.

Its 1000 miles break-in and usually the diff service in 1800 Miles or so but the 2019 models aren't required to change the diff oil as per my SA.

I checked with my SA and they couldn't find anything in the system for a Diff service on the G. If somebody comes up with anything different please post. Just passing my 1k break in period. The exhaust note seems to be opening up.

No, I didn't do it, but I did it on the 2017 G550 4X4.

nope, not recommended for 2019+ so I let it go. Will get it done at 1 year mark.
