Has anyone done anything to upgrade the stereo in the 2019 G class? I have some rattles in the door speakers in the mies and wanted to change them out for the JL Audio c7 3 way components and add a JL audio Vxi 6 channel amp to clean it up and boost the sound some. After it spending a day in the stereo shop they are telling me that the system is really designed to where you have to replace everything or nothing. There is a module that has to be flashed and then the factory amp can't run the rear speakers and the sub and the one I wanted to put in run the front speakers.
Does anyone have any other experiences with this? I wanted to spend about 6k in upgrades and they are telling me its above 10k for what has to be done because of the way the system is set up in the 2019 compared to the older models.

G8rh8rtampa,
I can’t answer your question, but am interested in the response also. Loved the pics you shared previously, eager to see more as you continue to upgrade.
Our G63 hits port on Mar 1, can’t wait to pick her up.

don't have an answer here but best to find other MBs that share the same command setup and a high end shop that knows what to do. too soon for anyone to have put a monster rig in their 2019. will see more in a few months. i always found it odd that the pre19s never had a major showing in aftermarket upgrades. they were out there but never really featured in depth.

The shop I go to is very high end and does all of the work for both Mercedes dealers in Tampa Clearwater area. Auto Styles on Tampa Rd. Always have treated me fairly and do a great job on tint, stereo, laser jammers, and upholstery. Highly recommend them if you are in this area.

This helped solve our rattling problem, now only issue is keeping wiper blades in contact with front windshield when stereo’s on.....for some reason they’re vibrating up to an inch from the glass...

We had a local audio shop install it. We considered everything from fully integrated/custom (plexiglass, lights, etc) to simple and ended up somewhere in between.
We also considered everything from (8) 6’s to (1) 13.5”.
The box is removable, but probably not easy as I’m sure it’s over 100 lbs.
JL is known for both quality and volume, many others just do one or the other. It sounds incredible.
They pulled the stock sub out of the rear side compartment and mounted an extra battery and the amp/electronics there.
There’s a knob which controls the bass output mounted on the lower left hand side of the steering column, so it’s very easy to dial up or down the bass. Fun to watch expressions of unsuspecting passengers!
The stock mids and highs are exceptional, actually do a nice job keeping up with the bass even when at full volume.
It hits hard, wasn’t joking when I said the wipers rattle an inch away from the front windshield when it’s dialed up.
