Odd Scratches on Rims

Hello!

If anyone could tell me what could have possibly caused these tiny scratches on my rims, I’d really appreciate it. Also, if you know any fix for it please let me know!

I’ve been in and out of my head trying to figure out how I got these cause I’ve never curbed the wheel. Also, I’m not even sure if they are scratches cause it feels smooth to the touch and doesn’t show when the tire is wet. I’ve tried soaping the rim and rubbing an eraser thinking it were water or dirt marks but no luck I just couldn’t get it off.

So, if you got anything on this one I’d really appreciate it. Many thanks!

Seems like caused by improper car washing, might be able to remove them with some polishing.

ya - whatever brush, needs to change to this process. Watch the type of brushes they use. It's maybe overkill but itll avoid scratches.

did ya take it thru a automated car wash ? looks like a vertical spinning brush hit it with corse dirt on it, or the kids decided to "help" dad wash the car my young daughter took a towel to my truck once that had winter muck all over the side..... couldn't yell at her she was trying to help Dad buffed it out with compound...

It’s always been hand washed, never on the drive in ones. Although, I don’t know if they use the drive in car washes in the dealership when I bring it in for service. Thank you though, I’ll probably buff it too. What buffing compound is best?

if you cant feel the scratches then i use meguir's but any good name brand will be fine, grab some micro fiber clothes and liberally put some compound on there and rub hard .... keep checking to see if scratches go away...

I would ask the dealer what kind of wash equip they use but you said you don't feel anything where the "scratches" are? If so then they are so fine as you can't feel them which means a little polishing compound on a rag should take them off easily. The wheels are clear coated so if you don't feel them then they are in the clear coat.

Isn't the paint on the wheels matte or at least satin? Buffing or using compound is going to make that portion glossier than the rest
