2019/20 jump seats?

Not for me it isn't as I make use of the cargo space fairly regularly, but usually don't have more than 1 passenger and there's plenty of legroom for me and any passenger I've had in the front Legroom in the back of the older model obviously isn't generous, but I'm 6 feet tall and have found it to work out fine even on long trips (such as a ~2500 mile ~10 day trip to Newfoundland with my brother and father) when rotating drivers and passengers so everyone gets time in each seat. The total car length is ~5" longer than the previous generation, so I'm shocked to see the cargo space lose 12" of depth even factoring in the increased legroom in the 2nd row. I sat in the front seat of a '19 G550 at the local dealer's launch event and it didn't feel like they had given the front row much additional legroom. The bottom line is that we each have our own priorities, so if you're happy with less cargo space I'm not going to say you're wrong, but for me it's a huge negative.

This was my first ever look at a 463A and I've never sat in one of the previous cars (lots of time in Wolf diesels tho!) It was interesting to me what a compromised vehicle this is. Packaging all that performance, undercarriage hardware and technology in a crash-compliant, DOT/EPA approved envelope, then lavishing all kinds of S class luxury appointments, while maintaining the charm of it's 'reference' predecessor wasn no small feat.
Those compromises are part of the appeal of the G.
The average SUV buyer (not the G's market) would be shocked by the rear seat legroom of the 463A, and I presume even more disparaging of the 463 seats.
I still want to fabricate a jumpseat, but 28" isn't much to work with!

For the record, I love my 2020 G 63. But, I swear a mini Cooper we had 15 years ago had more cargo space. We set an unofficial world's record by packing 27 cases of wine in our mini Cooper. I wouldn't even try that in our G.

I am having a very large box shipped to my motorcycle shop vice my condo and I measured to see if I will have room and was surprised to learn I will, with the back seats down of course.

The G's boot has less cargo space than my LX, even with its 3rd row seats stowed up against the side panels. Fortunately this ensures the G will never become the preferred soccer-mom bus of Marin County.

Yeah, the LX and LC have lots of cargo space and are also really nice and super reliable (I replaced my G63 with a 2020 LC).

2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition
Yeah. The LX is the Lexus version of the Toyota Land Cruiser (LC). They’re much more alike than different. The biggest difference is that the LX has AHC, which is a hydraulic height adjustable suspension, while the LC has a more traditional suspension with each option having some advantages. Otherwise, the Lexus has a slightly higher trim level (nicer leather, etc.) and some different exterior cosmetics, most notably the front bumper.
