2019+ Exposed Rear Wheel Mount?

Still exploring solutions on what to do with my rear wheel. I've never particularly liked the rear wheel cover on the Gs. Mine got dinged (grrr) so I've been exploring some options. I have always liked the reversed mount that shows the wheel and tire rim exposed on the outside. Haven't seen anyone do that on the 2019s. there were a few reverse mount solutions on the pre-2019's for sale. Has anyone seen this on the new ones? Also exploring the option of just doing body work to remove the rear mount all together but haven't found a body shop in the bay area I fully trust to do the metal work.

Thanks

I always thought this looked great on the older G's. Might be a little hard on the new ones however. I always wanted it just never got around to pulling the trigger. Might run it in the winter on my new G when it arrives and store some road side safety equipment in the lockbox.

Brabus do a carbon piece to replace the rear mount.

2019 G550
Www.formulawheels.com has done it on a 19. They have a picture as well.

only issue is it moves the mass of the wheel itself further from the body exposing it to more polar inertia when the vehicle jolts or bounces possibly causing stress induced fracture/breakage. I think I’ve heard of this once with hard off reading. For street use should be fine

I like the semi rigid spare tire cover, ding free and gives the truck a more utilitarian look

I found it online. I just remember watching videos of an MB sponsored off-road testing event of the new G w/ the vinyl cover and off road wheels & tires.

If it's still the same part it's about $800 from the dealership, special ordered from Germany. A 4638906708 - is the new G's spare just like the 2017-2018 as in it's a 265 width tire (265/55/19) .vs. 275?
