yep your charges are considered normal... if you get a G63, you'd be paying more for the GL Tax and for freight. we are lucky to avoid the AMG tax

i wonder how much influence MB canada has on freight charges. seems like different dealers have been charging different amounts. for example in the GTA, all the toronto retail group members charge the same amount. however, outside of TRG, they charge varying amounts which is weird to me. although it seems like G63s consistently get charge significantly more than 550s.

So in BC provincial tax is 20% on vehicles over $150K? And GST is 5% and on top? So you’re paying 25%?! That’s insane.
I thought the rest of Canada was bad at 13%.

Come on, it can't be $10K for all dealers -- this is just one dealer trying to hose its customers. Talk to the head of MB Canada and tell him you're going to the media if this isn't corrected. I paid $2695 in Ontario for a 2019 G Wagon, freight and PDI. Delivered 3 months ago.

i think the problem with complaining to MB canada is that they dont seem to be responsive or want to deal with individual sales deals. i was made to go through all sorts of ridiculous background checks to prove that i was not a car flipper when buying my G550. it was beyond ridiculous, they were also trying to force me to trade in a car which i was not planning to do at all. i reached out to MB canada who basically told me that you have to go through the dealership management for any issues related to individual sales deals. it's kind of annoying really, they were of zero help in my situation.

i am waiting for MB canada to reach out to me for the sales survey so i can give my thoughts on the whole buying process... funny thing is that i havent received any such surveys or phone calls.

Right... but the process is not common across all buyers. When one buyer is paying ~3X more for freight and PDI, it's ridiculous. I was told they were doing a background check, but they didn't directly ask me any questions, and I was not forced to trade in or buy another car. I've bought a few cars from the same sales manager though... but just B and C classes... nothing crazy.

this is the going rate for freight and PDI in B.C. and Alberta on new G63 and G550. The dealers can’t mark up above MSRP but they can set the freight and PDI to any price they want! It’s the price you must pay to get a new G
