G63 CDN price increase for 2020
I’ve had a deposit down since March of this year thinking my allocation was getting pulled in October.
Got a call today from the dealership saying I can have a January 2020 order date (delivery late March) but the msrp on the G63 is up 25k.
I have not seen this anywhere so wanted to check in here. This guy giving me the run around or is Canada getting a steep rate adjustment?
Thanks in advance!

That being said, they haven't had any orders for a 550 and none in the foreseeable future - they are all G63s.
My build/order is now January for a late March/April delivery.
and the 550 to $145,900 CAD. That’s close to $23,000 increase on the G63 not factoring the additional tax.
from what I’ve been told this increase in MSRP will be happening across all countries including Germany and the US on model year 2020.
There are some differences in model 2019 and 2020 but they are only optional cosmetic options and the “trail package” which includes some mechanical changes but otherwise it’s the same vehicle at a premium.
And my understanding was an increase...it wasn’t specified what that increase was but I was told the US increase would be greater than $5,000.
CAD$189K (US$145K) is still less than the $152K US MSRP
I can confirm that the new MSRP is 189,900$ vs the 167,000$ it was for the 2019 MY.
I was offered a August build (2019MY) and a October (2020MY) and i chose to go with October given it would be a 2020.
Now i feel violated!! lol 22,900$ more!
I'm sitting at 225,000$ now..

Absolutely insane!
Resellers and especially exporters are the ones to blame for this.
But i have to say it’s a dirty move on the part of MB Canada.
I’m not sure how this price increase will impact this situation.
Having said that...this price increase puts the G at more or less the same price as the US which doesn’t seem so unfair? It’s simply lining the price up with a market where generally speaking most of not all vehicles are lower in price?

Assuming a 2019 well optioned build was around $200K, that’s a $55K premium. I think it’s fair to say that buying the MY2020 at $220K and selling it a year or two later with relatively low mileage it would hold value fairly well...at least that’s my thought.
I have also taken substantial depreciation hits on luxury cars in the past...but that’s something we are all aware of when driving these cars...I think in the luxury segment the G63 fairs a lot better than most and should continue to do so even with this price increase.
