I like the Matte, but you should ask how much longer your order will be delayed by if you go with it. It's limited - so could be 3-4 months extra on your wait time if you go with that....
Does the matte black look dusty the next day after its washed vs shiny black that shows dust immediately after a short drive. I’v placed a matte black order but may switch to Manza Gray Magno.
I have iridium silver which looks clean even when it’s not!
I had a 2013 G63 with matte black paintwork. It looked really nice but if any water got on it or any dirt then it instantly looked very dirty. I live in Colorado so it was pretty much constantly dirty during the winter and would only stay clean for about a week every other season. You also have to be very careful with it and wash it by hand because you cant remove scratches without repainting the panel. You could fully PPF it to protect it but it would probably be close to $10k to cover the entire car. If it's not one of your daily's then it may not be too difficult to keep clean otherwise it just requires more upkeep. I'm getting a metallic paint on my 2020 so I don't have to deal with cleaning it as often or worry about scratching it, but I still think the matte black is one of the best looking colors on the car.
I have a matte AMG GTC in Selenite Grey. I don’t think matte is a great choice for the G, as any off-road use will scratch the paint, and you can’t buff matte paint.
You must 100% fully PPF any car with matte paint, and Ceramic Coat it, in my opinion. Even then, I wouldn’t do it for a G. Our G is Polar White. No fuss, looks great.
I'm on my 3rd and last Matte finished paint.. I agree with a prior comment of applying a Matte wrap to a standard color paint... get the look, protection and the option to return to your paint of choice.. With matte paint, if you have any time where you need a repair which includes paint blending, you can just about bet you will always be able to see where the paint re-spray was applied..

A matte respray will be unnoticeable if you go to a bodyshop that has experience with it. But it will cost more than a gloss respray.
The problem with applying matte film to a gloss paint is the seams - you will see the gloss at the edges of the panels.
Only if you remove the body panels! Otherwise it’s impossible to get an invisible install.
Yes. That may be true. I've seen them do hoods for the most part with this technique which didn't require removal..as well as some doors where they removed the door trim and handles to get a seamless and wrapped edge result.

Yes, correct. If the panel moves, like a hood or door, you can make the edges invisible. Otherwise, you’ll see an edge. The film needs to be ‘anchored’ well or it will lift up. If the installer can’t press down the edges, it will not adhere well.
I stopped short of having my installer remove the bumpers and front and rear lights, as it would have been too invasive, and was worried the parts wouldn’t be aligned perfectly when reinstalled.
Platinum Matte is a breeze to own and care for....matte black is brutal and very hard to keep looking new...I have had a platinum matte G63’s for 4 years...its very easy to care for...I use Meguiars spray between cleaning and it looks fantastic...it may have a slight patina after 4 years, but most people that see it fall in love with the color...btw...I hated matte finishes before I purchased this vehicle....on a g wagon , the matte finish looks the part...
I love Matte on my magno G63..... have the C63 in same and they're both easy to care for minus the need to avoid auto carwashes ( or be sure they don't use wax) and the occasional Dr beasley's tratments....
