USB connected vs Bluetooth audio quality issues
It should be the other way around where the connected quality should be better than wireless Bluetooth.
The issue I'm referring to is the sound tends to distort. Since the volume controls on the phone are disabled when connected via USB there is no way to turn down the output level of the device which seems to result in the audio feed to input too "hot" with excessive gain and therefore distort on output through the Mercedes system.
I have not experienced this problem with Bluetooth.
This is noticeable on all sources: Spotify, Apple Music etc...all of which are set to no audio boost or equalization.
Based on the number of views of this thread and only one reply I’m assuming no one seems to have this problem...maybe I’m just hearing things or over analyzing.

make sure your equalizer settings on iPhone under settings isn’t activated as otherwise it might be the factor. Secondly, go in the audio settings for Apple CarPlay and adjust the treble / bass surround etc. I have it setup a way which is fantastic without surround sound on. Surround sound makes it more artificial and spacial that I don’t like. My burmester sound settings in my Porsche 911 are the same without any any surround sound. Burmester audio systems sound better without surround IMO.
