Can you get apple car play to start up automatically after ignition or do you need to go through the menus? yes
Can you get apple car play to work wirelessly? yes
Did you insert a sim card into the unit or do you use hot spot? i use neither
Does the music start automatically though apple car play? (apple music radio) it starts automatically if you were recently playing music.
Sorry for so many questions, I currently have the older 10.25 square screen without apple car play.
I want to upgrade to a newer screen. I'm hoping to use apple car play wirelessly and have music automatically start after ignition..

After about 2 weeks with a 2018 g550, I’ve decide a screen upgrade is a must. The 18s have CarPlay so I’m really doing it for touch screen and the larger size is a bonus.
First question is- how easy is the install? It is just pull the existing screen out (seems like there are 2 cover plates behind the screen that come off and then maybe screws to remove? Then unplug the old screen and pop in the new one?) Is that it?
Second- if I already have CarPlay, do I need the dongle?
Third- does the dongle give wireless CarPlay connection too?
if anyone can post some step by step install instructions that would be amazing for folks to be able to pull the trigger on this.
I installed the N600 10,25"
in a Mercedes W205 C63. I had two very annoying troubles:
The screen during driving, sometimes switch off and until pressing reset button, not switch on again.
The screen sometimes, when i switch on the car, the screen remains switch off. No way to switch on, until reset.
I contacted Mekede (company that manufacture Navifly products), they indicated to me the next:
Press reset button. Not solves the problem, only this moment, later, maybe another day, happens again.
Restore factory setting. The same, problem doesn't dissappear.
Update to OTA Ksw-Q-Userdebug_OS_v2.6.3-ota The same, initially seems to solve the problem, but in two days, again, the two problems described, appears again.
Another issue, is that, when i make the reset to avoid the problems, then when switch off the car, the screen keeps switch on wasting battery.
If i can't solve the problem, this weekend i will remove the screen and return to the seller. They are giving to me always the same indications (reset, restore settings) and the support is very very bad, For the moment the worst experience that i had with an android screen. (I had three in my previous cars).
¿Any idea which could be the cause of the problems guys?

hi, install took about hour & half. Any good professional audio shop should be able to install it. Mine specifically was done at T-rexx auto sound in the Bronx. After installing the screen, you can just order an Apple car play dongle from Amazon ($50) also make sure you get a ground loop isolator it’s about $10 dollars. It cancels any static noise makes the sound crystal clear
where did you get the brabus rear installed? I have mine all painted ready for install but my shop couldn’t do the install saying it needs “custom” brackets. I think they were lazy
did T. rex install that too? Ibrahim and T are family friends I’ve been going there since 2014 lol
This Dynavin HU is applicable for 2008-2011 Gwagons. Apparently it is plug-n-play and replaces the factory COMMAND. Does anyone have any experience with it???
I just installed this screen in my 2017. I love the size and the abilities the new unit has but working through some of the quirks of having the stock and new systems working in parallel. Overall it seems a nice piece for a decent value.
Just ordered the DMP designs version for my 2011. Anyone with a PRE 2013 model have thoughts to chime in on the overall experience? My specific questions are below:
1.) How long does the unit take to boot up?
2.) Does CarPlay connect automatically without any need for user input?
3.) Does the backup camera display on the DMP top screen or the factory Mercedes’ command screen?
4.) Does the screen obstruct driving view from a safety standpoint?
5.) Does sound quality change? I’m fine with the lackluster G factory Harman Kardon sound system, but don’t want it to drop from where it’s at.
6.) Anyone can answer this one- How do you feel about the appearance?
Keep in mind these questions may not apply to 2013+ models as the 2011 unit connects through AUX and is an add-on unit, not a replacement of the factory command unit.

I ordered the 12 inch version to install in my V class,. I wil do that this weekend and booted the screen on my workbench to start installing some apps and test it out.
The version of Android is 10, not 11 as i see most of them are selling. I asked the seller for an update but no reply yet. This thread was very usefull already and i will keep following it.

Had it installed today. So far…. LOVE it. Makes the car even more fun to drive, and brings the infotainment up to a safe line of sight. Nav being on a display and not on your phone is amazing. Bridges the gap to modern day tech so we can enjoy our G’s without sacrifice.
I was NOT a fan when I saw the unit online as I felt it was gimmicky looking, but it looks great in person and the functionality wins. You also get to retain the factory radio, everything functions there as usual. Completely reversible and plug and play.
only con is it takes about 30 seconds to boot up and connect to CarPlay once the vehicle is turned on.

screen mirroring is just a function built into the screen. You need an Apple car play dongle which is $50 on Amazon to get the full Apple car play experience like modern cars. Which is the set up I have. Once you get the Apple car play dongle, you connect your phone via usb to the dongle to activate CarPlay like all modern cars

@PeriodCorrect thanks for sharing. Can you tell me how long it takes from ignition start to throwing it in reverse and having reverse camera available? Does it still take the unit 30 seconds to boot up and then show rearview camera, or is the camera feed quicker??
