Finally installed mine. It was basically connecting a remote/acc wire and a ground wire . Then connect to the accessory /Aux jack. I ran mine to the glove box for a cleaner look. It's an add on used from the Aux . Doesn't control the other things because of the model of my truck. Maybe I could have paid a shop to try and figure more out but it' still has to work thru Aux.

Can you run Apple CarPlay through it? What about a navigation app?
I'm planning to buy an adroid screen for my S212 (2010), and I'm hasitating between the 10.25 and the 12.5 inch versions. I'm afraid that the bigger screen on the older design dashbord would look weird. (like an iPad on the dashboard) The big screen costs 100 bucks more, does it worth it or no? What do you think?
The main deal for me is carplay. Does it work well?
I just installed a chinese reversing cam which works well with the comand on the stock screen. Should I leave it as it is or shouldl I connect the cam to the sercen?
I upgraded my 7 inch factory display in my G63 to the 10.25” Android display today and thought I should share. The factory displays in the gwagons are so small and outdated.
overall I love it. Gives the car interior a new aura.
the built in UI resembles MBUX. It comes with built in WiFi. Steering wheel controls work
I now have Apple car play etc. The screen is very responsive with high resolution quality
i am also selling my Factory AMG grille, AMG brush guard and AMG rear bumper if anyone else is interested.
great install! I was looking at 2017 or newer g-class just so I can have CarPlay. However, this gives me hope that I can save 20k or so and buy a 2015/2016 year model and add this upgrade.

hi, install took about hour & half. Any good professional audio shop should be able to install it. Mine specifically was done at T-rexx auto sound in the Bronx. After installing the screen, you can just order an Apple car play dongle from Amazon ($50) also make sure you get a ground loop isolator it’s about $10 dollars. It cancels any static noise makes the sound crystal clear

My installers had issues with installation. The screen doesn't fit snugly and the functionality that is there is not good, at best. I will be having the screen removed next time I take my G in. If anyone is interested in purchasing the screen from me directly, let me know and I'll give you a good deal. It's only been installed for two weeks.

weird. Mine works great & mounted great no complaints. Also have all factory and steering functions. Did you get the 10.25inch or the 12inch model?

10.25 inch. I honestly wouldn't have purchased it at all had I known how difficult the install would be and had I also been aware of the lack of functionality. There are a lot of functions on the screen that are pointless to me.

its not complicated to install. Maybe your shop isn’t just experienced enough. It keeps all factory menus. It allows you to go back to the NTG factory screen , as well as switch back to modern MBUX look with Apple car play. I use Apple CarPlay and Waze all the time . Best ever. I’m not sure what your expectations were. Also sound is crystal clear

My expectations were that I could use Apple Car Play for navigations and music, but all I can figure out is screen mirroring, which is far from Apple Car Play.

screen mirroring is just a function built into the screen. You need an Apple car play dongle which is $50 on Amazon to get the full Apple car play experience like modern cars. Which is the set up I have. Once you get the Apple car play dongle, you connect your phone via usb to the dongle to activate CarPlay like all modern cars

Did you insert a sim card into the unit or do you use hot spot?
Does the music start automatically though apple car play? (apple music radio)
