Is that a standard option? Do I get that if I delete the heated steering wheel or do I have to pay for that option? Can't seem to find it on the online build tool.

Also, is it better than a heated steering wheel? Anyone find it useful? Wondering if it's even worth the effort changing the build..not sure the benefit of the option.

Standard for the US market on the G63 if you *do not* have the heated steering wheel option.

What is that? I do not see it in the Order Guide.

that’s correct.

not really that useful. There are redundant buttons in the center console...very easily reachable...perhaps even easier than the drive unit.

Take the heated steering wheel over the drive unit! The heated wheel is awesome. You’ll never want to drive a car without it.

The drive unit, if it’s the same rotary dial as on the other 2020 AMGs, feels very flimsy. I don’t like it. When you press it, the whole unit moves. I hate that it doesn’t feel solid.

Good to know. Keeping the heated steering wheel.

I have the drive unit

It's redundant and a gimmick

Done over I'd order heated steering to eliminate to buttons

I have the dials and honestly I really like them. Similar to any other steering wheel controls (like for the radio, nav, etc.), it is redundant but convenient.

I also don’t find them to be cheap or of low quality. They are similar fit and finish as everything else in the car.

But I also don’t live in a place where we really need a heated steering wheel...

This was a big dilemma for me on my soon to have G63 but ended up going with heated steering wheel. Now that I know the buttons are flimsy and not solid, I definitely don't want the drive unit. Thanks!

If you are anywhere cold, make sure to get the heated wheel. My wife's GLE has it and one of my favorite options, especially here in Canada.
I ordered my G with the AMG wheel until the dealer told me it wouldn't be heated, I changed out my order immediately for the heated wheel!

Totally agree, and it's not really practical to change it out later.
Even if you live in a warm climate, on those cool mornings you'll love it!

Where I live it’s cold. I have the controls on my steering wheel, look wise with the carbon, id say it’s cool. I like the fact that you can change to sport plus without having to access the center console. It would be cool if you can change what those buttons did, I’d rather have an exhaust button there than a traction control button, not really planning on going 200 through a corner with this thing
