Size of Steering Wheel emblem (2019+)?

Can someone tell me the size (diameter) of the star emblem on the steering wheel/airbag? And I would measure mine if I had it!

And to be sure it should be from a 2019+, G550 although G43 is probably the same.

As per a PM from a member here it appears it is 58mm. I am debating whether to remove the existing one from the steering wheel and replacing it with one that I will paint Black, such as this one:

https://veltors.com/mercedes-benz/70...bag+&results=3

Or just putting one of these emblems over the top of it:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/372858760041?ul_noapp=true

The above seller actually has 3 options, which are all 58mm:

So is there anyone out there that can measure the steering wheel emblem on their 2019 or 2020 G550? I am getting conflicting answers from ebay sellers. Thanks!

What’s the difference? 1mm? Why just get both since it’s only $14 a piece

Ideally I want just the chrome star, which is on the steering wheel now, and I would like to remove it and replace it with a Black one. The other options are backups options. I know there are many people here that have a 2019 or 2020 G550 that can measure it for me, and others that are thinking about doing the same thing so I am not sure why that is so hard to do. If I had my vehicle I would have measured it for someone immediately if I saw the question.

I might have a lead on one but until I know the exact size I cannot pursue one. I am not sure if it is the same on the G550 and G63 so since I am getting a G550 I prefer to get the measurement for it; however, if someone can measure the one on the G63 I can compare it to the one on the G550 when I get the size - stay tuned!

I would advise against messing with the steering wheel emblem. That could potentially become a projectile in an accident causing you to lose an eyeball or who knows what. Maybe wrapping with vinyl might be safer?

Thanks for your concern but the airbag opens to the side and the bag comes up so there would be no harm and besides, figure the odds of being in a wreck. I alwasy customize my rides and I put a custom one on my Porsche:

Thanks. If I could get someone to paint the steering wheel star for the G550 to match the Yacht Blue leather I would have that done!

I think I found the Airbag Star and I ordered one from a seller in Turkey so I will let everyone know if it fits: https://www.otovelto.com/mercedes-be...es&results=512

My plan now is to have the Star painted Gloss Black and since I was able to obtain a sample of Yacht Blue leather that will go on the area of the airbag where the Star goes with the Black Star over it.

My wife decided to go with Desert Silver Metallic and the order has been updated, and all of the exterior Stars will be painted in that color as well.

Well the emblem I got is too small but I was able to reach out to the seller in China that supplied us with the Porsche airbag covers, which we needed to paint the trim ring. It turns out that he can provide the correct size Mercedes Star emblem and the airbag cover (just the cover, not the entire airbag assembly). To save on shipping I am getting 5 of these, which will work out to $70 each, and I will sell the other 4 for that amount to anyone that is interested in changing their Star emblem. They are single use items so one cannot remove the emblem, paint it and reuse it so a new one is required. Please note that this is the round airbag so if you have the flat bottom one be sure to measure your Star emblem to ensure these will fit.

I have found a new source for just the Chrome Star for the airbag and I can get them and sell them for $20 each plus shipping, which will be my cost. If interested send me a PM.
