Dealer is now crawling back to me and begging
The dealer originally told me it was going to be a 2 year wait, but now they're calling me and asking me if I would like to buy a G63 today. 3 months ago, they were telling me to wait 2 years and pay 30k over MSRP. Now, they're practically begging me to buy one. Anyone else having the same experience?
I am happy mine is now delayed because it gives me more time to think about it and see where are months from now.

Surprisingly, I was able to sell one of my Ferraris two weeks ago for a good price (same price as I expected before the coronavirus fiasco). It's somewhat reassuring to know that I'm not the only optimist.Out of curiosity, I contacted another Mercedes dealer in my area and expressed interest in a new G 63. They didn't even flinch. Their response was "we get $40K over MSRP." Not from me you won't. LOL

From a dealership standpoint, it is strategical to not show desperation even if they are. Much like how everything is "okay" and "under control" even though the US just passed China in number of coronavirus cases. While reporting abnormalities may play a role, the US has had a dismal amount of test kits and restricted testing (California said they won't even test people if a negative result will change their quarantine behavior, so you have a lot of people floating around with potential positives). So if anything, the US's actual numbers are much higher than reported (Johns Hopkins suggest up to 20 cases for every reported).
