It’s gonna be a no for me. Those taillights remind me a bit too much of that eBay section you should not go to when looking for ways to upgrade your car...

Not for me either but I look forward to a first hand review from someone here in the near future.

Yep, a little over the top. I'm in the process of upgrading my stock lights to LED, though I'm going to leave the headlights HID. I was surprised that the H11 fog light bulbs could be swapped out very easily with no resistor issues.
After looking at all the current options for LED taillight assemblies, I've decided that I'll stick with the stock assembly and swap out for LED bulbs where possible. Those popular assemblies from China and Taiwan that mimic the new G wagon lights just don't look good to me, with the exposed LEDs pointing forward in their reflector housings. I'm also staying away from the fancy light movements on start-up, just looking for brighter, clearer lighting.

Anyone got any pointers for me for the taillights? PY21W and R5W/5007 bulbs... where to go.
Also, the rear bumper parking light has never worked on my truck, not sure what to do there.

Ew. When it comes to the G - "Less is more". That level of animation and bling barely works on Audis.

Just my $0.02, obviously. Now some epic huge tires, lights, and winch..... ;p

What are your thoughts on the OEM LED units? I've been trying to figure out what's needed to not have errors since the BCM/LCM or whatever is likely not going to like the lower draw of LEDs installed in a 2011 car. Same with the sidemarker lights ... the OEM LED kit is suprsingly cheap but i havent been able to find the resistor specs or whether anyone makes a plug and play solution. I'm a DIYer but hate messing with electrical stuff. I could probably get it if nothing plug and play is out there but i'm hoping to find the resistor specs and some feedback from someone that's already performed this swap. I have a 2011 G55.

I think there are some more plug 'n play options out there for LED taillights, I ended up taking mine to a shop to get some new LED units installed (I was getting some offroad lights mounted anyway). Found out that one of my original taillight housing mounts was broken so I just went with new sealed units. Not much of an electrical guy either!
I did change out the side marker lights to LEDs, those are pretty straightforward. I went with these, they have their own resistors you simply plug in: W463 front and rear side marker LED lights. It's best to mount those resistors to the metal body somewhere as a heat sink, since they get HOT.

well, to circle back on this ... Mercedes never actually offered LED tail lights in the W463. The sidemarkers and license plate lights did move to LED in 2015 but there is no OEM LED taillight. THe W463A is when they finally did LED tail lights as well. I think one of my mounts is also broken, and the other side has a hairline crack in the lens. Looks like they run $300/copy so not too stoked but it is what it is.
