I feel sad for you guys in the US that pay over MSRP, in Germany that practice is completely alien to us. I ordered my G63 tricked out with 10% discount.

G63's *still* above MSRP is insanity to me. You'd think this was a limited edition Black Series or something.

People just need to be more patient, wait for allocations, wait for production, wait half a year, and get the car spec'd out as they like it.

I've seen folks get allocations for production slots 6-9 months out. That said, 12-18 months wait back in November might be much different now once the factories re-open post-COVID pandemic. Enough people are likely to rethink their big purchases.

Still, for me, I'd rather wait than pay above MSRP. I know for others, they'd rather *not* wait and pay over MSRP.

About the same here in the US with larger markets just over 2 year wait for a G63.

Can't US buyers buy directly from Mercedes like we do in Germany? And then have the car exported, MB will take care of the correct forms. I just don't understand why people are at the mercy of random salesmen.

There is only one factory MB store in the US, Manhattan Mercedes, and they generally sell at MSRP.

I'm spoiled for choice then, I live within driving distance of 4 MB stores. I feel for you guys, wish it was much easier to order and testdrive the cars like over here.

I ordered a G 63 February 10, and my sales guy called me today and said it was built . I was originally supposed to get it in April , not that bad of a delay should see it in a few weeks.

You ordered a new G63 and the original delivery date was 2 months after ordering? Either you took someone else's slot or that story is bogus.

I guess everyone else has been doing it wrong, never heard of this. 2 month waiting while others , even in the country of manufacturing, get 1-2 years.
Did you take someone else's slot? Were you able to customize it?

I customize the complete order. I bought a 2016 S 65 Coupe from them and A S63 sedan from them , so maybe they found it somewhere else I have no idea.

Correct since orders that generate a PO# have to be allocated. It could have already been in the dealer's system and they allowed it to be changed to the customer specs. Otherwise, a dealer can submit an order without an allocation but it will just sit there until the dealer gets an allocation. Porsche works the same way and I suppose most manufacturers are the same, even the ones that produce millions of vehicles each year.

cant find an allocation and wait times im getting are all 24 months +, every dealer ive called that have any are still asking 30-50K over sticker...

I have tried to help several people already find one without luck, and those were places that had allocations so people are still snapping them up. G550s on the other hand are plentiful as long as one is willing to accept the colors/options. I am not taking delivery of the Platinum Magno/Blue & Black leather G550 that should be here in FL in June in case someone is interested - PM me for details. I am planning to take delivery of a Desert Silver one though albeit that is not being built until June.
