G63 Exhaust Tips (cleaning tips requested)?

What does everyone do w/r/t keeping their exhaust tips clean? Simple soap and water does not do the trick and I'd love to have some easy way to keep these looking super polished and sparkling clean. Thanks in advance.

Try some chrome polish on a microfiber, such as this one, Simichrome Polish, which is highly rated:

This stuff will blow your mind on how much luster it will provide to your exhaust tips.

I've used it on all of my cars that had nice exhaust tips.

Finally washing my G55 for the first time this weekend and the tips will be hit with this for sure.

Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish

If well-maintained, you can simply use whatever you've been using to wash your wheels (I use Brake Buster + wheel tools to agitate)

If not well-maintained but not too far gone, P21S polishing soap is great

If heavily neglected, time to get out the metal polish

I applied ceramic to my chrome tips. Keeps them shiny and very easy to clean. Any chrome polish works well - but then highly recommended to use ceramic coating. Seems to withstand the heat with no problem.

Or even just a coat of wax helps repel regular road grime and makes for an easier clean up.

+1 - Ceramic coat everything you can! I did everything but the wheels and the wheels are the most time consuming to clean (Oops).

Do the Gs throw a lot of brake dust? I had the wheels ceramic coated (OptiCoat Pro) on my Porsche when I had the rest of the car done but the Black wheels still showed a lot of dust so I swapped to the PCCBs. Ceramic makes cleaning easier but it does not stop dust, etc. from sticking.

Yes, I would say the G's get a lot of brake dust (so did my 2015), but it's not as noticeable with the black wheels.

Bought the mothers polish recomended above and can report back that it worked very well. Removed the tarnish and grit very well with a little elbow grease. the edges that bend inward into the exhaust ports were a bit tricky but overall worked well. the tips themselves were lightly pitted by road kibble hitting them at speed but overall not really visible and now they look sharp. meant to take before / after pics but forgot to take the before shots. they we're pretty dirty and look great now so thanks for the recommendation. One 8oz jar should basically last forever.

I also used the polish on the wheel caps that also had some scum on there. used a q-tip to get in there and those came out well even though they are a bit plasticy vs chrome

.
Get a simple bottle of liquid Barkeepers Friend... wet rag... and you’ll be amazed how easily it cleans the exhaust tips.
