I find it odd that they’re giving you base loaners as a g class owner!

After issues like this, it would be appropriate to compensate you for not having the vehicle for so long.

Well... on installation at the factory - after the seal goes in - the inner channel gets treated with "Gummi Pflege" which is a rubber seal lubricant.

If there is a BMW dealer parts dept close by... BMW Part# 83-19-2-449-390 is a Foam Applicator plastic bottle ( don't buy Gummi in "stick" form) - when applying best to wear vinyl gloves - with window "down" quick wipe down both sides of the "window channel: in that trim, as far as you get get into the channel with the foam applicator tip of the bottle.

No experience with the above but I have used Spray Silicon to lube and protect rubber moldings, etc. for years and it has always performed outstandingly, for a few bucks a can.

Bob... Gummi Pflege is the German formulation that is non-silicone/water-based.. same material is marketed both in liquid/applicator form and paste/stick form... German's spec for door/sunroof/window seals over silicone - and Gummi is also heat resistant and cab be used under the hood.

Gummi is the next nothc up over silicone - since silicone attracts more dust/contamination and actually over time silicone will "dry-out" the seal material and NEVER use silicone in the engine compartment or risk intake sensor cotamination.

The next step about Gummi - is Krytox/PTFE and the "right" PTFE can be pricey..

Yes they added the Gummi upon installation. Every time I open my window and close it, there are streaks of it on the outside glass.

however, the window still rattles even after 3 weeks in the shop and replacing the rubber seal. Any other ideas on what is causing the window to shake? The noise it makes is like if the window seal is coming undone (kind of like a sticking and unsticking noise if that makes sense). Only happens at highway speeds. Wonder if it's because the interior pressure is too high causing the window to open.
